No, of course not. By investing in alternative types of energy. We all need to do this anyway when the oil runs out. Right now we are only inconvenienced by the oil price being 2 to 3 times higher than before. There is still time to make a fairly gradual switch to other forms of energy before the price reaches 10 or 100 times the current price. Make the investments now and have a fairly smooth switch, or make many times the investment in 10-20 years and still have chaos.

Can I do this alone?

Not unless you are a multi-billionaire.

But you can help make the transition smoother by writing to your representative and telling him/her to get the lead out.
