Default New pictures of the aftermath of Hiroshima released. Nuking them was right.

Here are newly released never before seen pictures of the aftermath of Hiroshima. It was the right thing to do instead of having a estimated one million U.S. soldiers killed in a all out invasion of Japan whos civilians were willing to fight to the death instead of surrendering.

Warning: If you have a weak stomach, please do not click on the link.

Nothing conveys a sense of having done the right thing like the piled up corpses of women and children. In fact I think I'll have a beer to celebrate this self-righteous euphoria which has suddenly overcome me. I'm sure this is what god had in mind when he handed Moses the tablets on Mt Sinai.

You can actually look at these photos are say that dropping the bomb was the right thing to do?
Do you not have any compassion? Look at these poor people, lying dead in rows upon the ground. It's heartbreaking.

You have to look past that. Without those bombs millions more would have died in the even worse buisness of invading japan..

It is the fact that the original poster shows these photos, and in the same sentence claims it was the 'right' thing. How can anyone think that when they are looking at pictures of dead bodies, and sufferering?

We didn't have to do anything.

We could've just blockaded the island (except for food) and they would not have been able to do anything because they have no oil, iron, coal and rubber and would've surrendered. Face it, we are the onyl country to use a nuke in anger and was it really right considering we could've beaten them like I have said?

If there was any other option, we should have chosen that one.

If we did that they probably would have had time to build their own nuke and then those pictures you saw would be of Americans. We could have beaten them without the nuke but millions of Americans would have died and millions more Japanese would have died because they were all ready to fight to the death and were making sharpened bamboo poles to give to the population and stuff.

More Japanese civilians would have died because they were prepared to defend their country against what they perceived as the enemy - the United States.

We were the enemy, not the perceived enemy. They started a war with us.
