Hmmm....

Is it just me, or is this one of those topics that just isnt really an issue??

If Bush thought quitting Golf was a decent way to show the troops and their families that he was working hard and being serious about the war while they are over there fighting then I dont see any problem with that.

I also dont think it would be a big deal if he WAS playing golf every now and then. When I was over in Iraq there were times where a bunch of us got together and played some Football or other activities. I know we played a TON of cards. Certainly the President is entitled to some down time as well.

I dont like Bush, but this just seems to me to be one of those issues where people are nitpicking and trying to bash the guy no matter what he says or does.

Bash him for sending us into Iraq...that is a fair thing to discuss. What he chooses to do in his down time shouldn't be of any concern. My opinion on this is that its a nice enough gesture, he probably should do more to show respect to the troops, however if this is one of the ways in which he wants to show it then whatever. It doesnt affect me one way or the other.

I agree. I think it was a nice gesture of the President.

P.S. Give up golf vs. Body Armor.

P.P.S. Get your veto pen ready when the "free college education for GI's bill" Comes up Mr. President. (He already said he is going to veto it)

no problem for BHO to throw gutter balls at bowling alley, shoot baskets at the gym, or make various trick shots at the pool hall...shows his loyalties to country and those who serve it proudly

So then it must have been equally as offensive and disrespectful to the troops when Bush threw out the first pitch at a NY Yankees game??

Honestly these things are trivial and dont matter and to nit pick these things isnt fair to anyone.

Obama's bowling being caught on tape is punishment enough for him. I mean he has to live with that shame and embarrassment for the rest of his life LOL.j/k

Seemed like he was pretty decent at pool though.

Some anonymous person asked me for a link to the veto portion of my post.

I picked the most conservative and pro military biased site I could find.

http://www.military.com/news/article...bill-adds.html

Quote:
Several conservative Republicans joined the rally on behalf of the legislation, which would greatly increase college education benefits for veterans to cover tuition and fees at most public universities. That would, on average, double college aid for veterans to about $12,000 per year.
Quote:
Bush said he would veto any attempt to add a popular veteran benefits bill to his $108 billion war funding request.

Interesting that Bush would quit a game like golf over the Iraq war. That would be like Bill Clinton pledging to stop masturbating on interns because he sent troops into Serbia.
