Libertarians often consider their opinions to be so valid, that they reflect on how much better things would be, if they were philosopher-kings.
The problem is, in a democracy, you have to convince other people you have the right ideas. Note that they currently have little power, even in the conservative party. My guess is that it's that whole everybody-else-is an-idiot thing. That, and the fact that America is still the best libertarian model in the world, even with all their complaints about the big, bad government. |
