You judge from the perspective of your cultural norms alone. You need to see things through their eyes.

No one should be having sex with 9 year old girls but not too long after that they become of child bearing age and, in many cultures, marry at this age. There's nothing wrong with this and it doesn't harm them psychologically because psychological health is completely dependent on and relative to one's environment.

Makedee, in regards to only focusing on the good and not the bad (please "read between the lines" here):

1. Hitler was good with kids.
2. He got the trains to run on time.
3. Hitler was an INCREDIBLE orator.
4. Hitler *unified* the scattered nation behind him like never before.
5. He was initially democratically elected.
6. The "experiments" his "scientists" did in "camps", on "undesirable people" helped advance scientific understanding.
7. He presided over a relatively strong economy.
8. He created a world-class military to protect his citizens.
9. He was very very charismatic.
10. He was ambitious, and was "going places."

I find it extremely ironic that many of those who claimed that Bush was the worst president in history claim that Obama is possibly the greatest thing to ever happen. If it is policy you are concerned with, then Obama is simply more of the same. More spending, more deficit, more foreign involvement, more government intervention, and more government regulation. Only a true partisan would claim that Obama represented change as the only change is the party he's from.

....It can likely be statistically proven that a fair number of those societies are inferior to EU/Canadian/USA culture in providing life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to their citizens.

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness was coined by the US. It is normative in all cultures to protect the life of individuals within the society. There is NO legitimate culture that allows for murder. This is why you need to study anthropology.

Don't just say it's likely that statistics will prove this. Post them. Everything that I've ever studied relating to culture and the human condition argues against ideas put forth such as those you argue for. In fact, the etirety of the study of anthropology proves you wrong.
These are ideas of culturally distinct anthropocentric groups. This is NOT the case at all. Statistics actually argue the opposite.

I'd like to see these statistics if you find them.
