I am sure this has happened but it is not the case for most Muslims. I know Jews (not bashing, I am proIsrael) who have disowned family members for converting. Radical mormon sects have "divine atonement" where they kill people to save them. Usually this is for leaving their belief system. You can't say that Mormons are blood thirsty for a few. It is the radicals that get most publicity. How many new stations want to broadcast: Christian church gives to the homeless, Muslim or Jewish family living a peaceful life. No, people want to hear Christian pastor preaches hate for gays or Muslim terrorist blows himself up in a mall. This sells more newspapers.

Note the word "extremists". It actually has meaning.

While you don't hate Muslims, you don't make an active effort to understand their religion. All of these English interpretations of the texts that you're finding to break down the religion as discriminatory and corrupt are incorrect. You're looking for what you WANT to find - a corrupt religion. It's just not.

No where in history has there been a civilization that was lead by honest people who thought it right to enslave others, murder their women and children, rape women and children, and kill others of the same species. NO WHERE. These actions come from corrupt people who are using a good thing for evil ends. Why don't you educate yourself instead of looking for validation for the belief that we are up against a supreme enemy, that which loves to rape children. These horrible actions come from a few, corrupt people within this beautiful religion that are exploiting it. Christians do horrible things too. As do Jews, Mormons, Pagans, Atheists, etc.

People are evil, not religions. Just because someone does something stupid doesn't mean a person that YOU can categorize as similar will do the same thing. I remember hearing about a young woman who drowned her babies because God told her to do so. She was Christian. Should we then accuse all Christians of killing babies? Absolutely not. It's frustrating seeing post after post from you about "Muslims did this, are they evil?" etc, etc, especially after your misinterpretation of the "woman beating" passage in the Quran.

PLEASE. I'm not being cocky or elitist. I by NO means think I'm better than you. Please educate yourself about these people and their religion. There can only be peace through mutual understanding.

People of all interests do horrible things. Just because we happen to be at war with an Arab nation doesn't mean we should diminish the credibility of a national interest. Why? So we can legitimize our occupancy? So we have someone to point the finger at when gas prices rise? It's unfounded cultural ignorance.
