Default This Global Warming B.S. Has Gone Too Far

Quote:
It seems unthinkable, but for the first time in human history, ice is on course to disappear entirely from the North Pole this year.

The disappearance of the Arctic sea ice, making it possible to reach the Pole sailing in a boat through open water, would be one of the most dramatic – and worrying – examples of the impact of global warming on the planet. Scientists say the ice at 90 degrees north may well have melted away by the summer.
Crazy-Ass Source

Is this guy a complete moron? Seriously?
See you in December, when we find out what a crackhead this guy is. See you in December, when the ice up is still there, just as it had been all year long.

Here's the most retarded part: When we find out this guy was 100% wrong....NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO HIM! That's the problem. These crackhead Chicken Little types can shoot their mouths off with all kinds of kook prophecies and predictions, and they're never held accountable for them.

Ya know...if there were laws in place where punitive damages could be brought against people who directly lie to the media for personal gain, we wouldn't hear from these people. Hell, it would definitely shut Al Gore up.

See you in December....

The Global Warming debate is a smoke screen that makes us forget the true issues of pollution and consumption.

There are too many people consuming resources, and too many industries and people polluting. We are choking ourselves.

It's a smoke screen alright. It's a smoke screen for people to get rich off of other folks. It's the "perfect solution" to rob corporations (carbon credits). It's the perfect solution for manufacturers to trick you into buying their goods with inflated prices ("green" light bulbs). It's the perfect solution to get car companies to make snobbish people buy their cars (hybrids) that get HALF the gas mileage that the Geo Metro got, back in the 90's! It's the perfect solution to get scientists to get the FAT grant money.

It's a sham, and the eco-hippies have fallen for it, hook line & sinker.

Actually, the blame goes to both sides of the political aisle. The corporations and the Rightwing pundits are making statements like yours to keep us fighting about Global Warming.

Meanwhile, they continue to pollute and all of us continue to consume.

This is not some Liberal conspiracy to tax the rich corporations or create a new market of goods anymore than it is a conspiracy to steer us away from the true issues.

The earth is dying and we are the ones killing ourselves off, while we bicker about Global Warming.

You're dam right it's both sides of the aisles! BOTH sides are getting rich!

(Man made) Global warming = fear.
Fear = dependence.
Dependence = POWER

That's all it's about. POWER over those they can scare the most.

John David Dingell, Jr. (D - MI) He is the 2nd longest serving Representative ever and the 4th longest serving Congressman ever. Since 1955...

Dingell again became chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, a panel he previously chaired from 1981 to 1995.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Dingell
Look at what Dingellberry wants to do with all that "green" money.

Quote:
Revenue generated by the legislation [carbon tax or cap and trade] will flow to an expansion of the Earned Income Tax Credit. This, according to Dingell, helps lower income families compensate for the increased taxes on fuels. The revenue from the gas tax will go into the highway trust fund, with 40% going to the mass transit and 60% going to roads. The revenue from the tax on jet fuel goes into the airport and airway trust fund.

The revenue from the fee on carbon emissions will go into a variety of accounts, including:

* Medicare and Social Security
* Universal Healthcare (upon passage)
* State Children’s Health Insurance Program
* Conservation
* Renewable Energy Research and Development
* Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

http://www.house.gov/dingell/carbonTaxSummary.shtml
I have yet to see any of the Candidates energy plans that specify 100% of the cap and trade or carbon tax monies will go to alternate energy technology or carbon reduction. Show me one candidate that pledges to do that....just one. If they were serious about global warming as they say, that would be a prudent plan. So far as I know the plan is to dump the money into the general fund and spend it on other programs with no specific amount spent on renewable energy and technology. THAT'S a plan?

While I believe there is some kind of Global Warming, somehow I don't think the ice around the North Pole will be going anywhere.

I totally agree with you. The earth has gone through many warming and cooling cycles in 50+ million years without man's help.

You know what I do find to be a real hoot, I heard an ad on the radio touting fuel cell cars (Hydrogen), it said "All that comes out of the exhaust is water vapor". I choked on my Diet Coke. 95% of the overall greenhouse effect in the earth's atmosphere is caused by.....you guessed it water vapor.

I wonder if they realised their mistake?
