In the last months of World War II (1939-1945), Allied forces urged Japan to surrender unconditionally or face “prompt and utter destruction.” Japan refused. On August 6, 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, and three days later a second atomic bomb on Nagasaki,

I think that maybe the dropping of the atomic bombs weren’t necessary. But soon as we went on with the project I started to agree that it was necessary, because the United States gave many warnings about the use of the atomic bomb. Also Japan didn’t surrender after the first bomb, so maybe it was necessary to drop another bomb on Nagasaki too.

At first I was certain that it was the right thing to do when the allies dropped the atomic bomb at Hiroshima. But then again, it could have been prevented by giving Japan a better agreement or by threatening Japan more. In a way, it was Japan’s own decision when they decided to refuse to the Potsdam Proclamation. The allies were in my opinion wise because they didn’t risk the lives of their own soldiers. It was a cruel and maybe a cowardly way to beat Japan in my opinion although I would have supported the allies.

If someone in my neighborhood committed a crime, he'd be seen as an INDIVIDUAL before the court of law, and I'd be a separate INDIVIDUAL.

When nations go to war, each nation is collectively an INDIVIDUAL before international conventions.

As far as the polulation is concerned, the Js seem pretty happy about it when their boys were killing and raping their way across Asia...There's plenty of war time footage showing the Js celebrating in the streets when their boys were head-chopping their way through Asians, Americans, Brits, Aussies, etc... They seem to like the war well enough when things were going their way...When a nation declares war, the fate of the people of that nation now rides with their fortune in war. Regardless how they were lied to, only idiots would believe that no one dies in war. So, by celebrating en-mass their troops victories, they are essentially celebration the killing of other people (regardless how they were killed) by default. It's justifiable if Js were fighting a war of self-defense against invaders, but not during a war of aggression. Not to mention most able bodied Js, if not all, worked on the homefront on war-related industries. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were both industrial cities relatively untouched by the war, their industrial capacity made them legitimate military targets.
