The real question is, why won't Fox News release the clip?

I'll bet it's because what we can imagine is worse than what actually happened.

In what context did he use it? Was it used in a sarcastic way? Was it used as a direct reference to an African American?

If I say "It is unacceptable to use the word (insert n-word here)" I have said the word. Does that mean I use it derisively of African Americans? Does that mean it is a regular part of my vocabulary?

Lets see how he likes it?
I agree that, if he used the word derisively of another African American, it applies more to him than it does to them. He's really put his foot in his mouth a lot recently, which is a shame, because his Rainbow Coalition has done a lot of good work, especially in educating impoverished youth, and he himself has done a few things that are rather admirable, such as securing the release of American hostages without the government having to make a single concession to the hostage takers.

On edit, I apologize for the excessive number of commas in that post.

There's actually an ironic truth to this post. Jackson's own son has come down pretty hard on him for his recent remarks about Obama - looks like he's getting a bit curmudgeonly in his old age.

what does it really matter what Jesse Jackson calls anyone. He is an icon for the civil rights movement. He was important once and his star is fading.

when he started PUSH. He was in the spotlight when he failed in a run for president. That would be when. Now he is just a guy.
