Default Democrat Congress Blocks Yet Another Alternative Energy Bill

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080717/...ress_lng_fight

Quote:
The House on Wednesday approved extending federal "wild and scenic" environmental protection to the lower Taunton River in Massachusetts, dealing a blow to developers who want to build a liquefied natural gas terminal on an urbanized stretch of riverbank.

The 242-175 vote, split largely along party lines, came amid Republican complaints the bill was a backdoor way for Democrats to block a proposed LNG plant in the city of Fall River, Mass. at a time when such facilities are sorely needed. GOP lawmakers said the measure underscored how Democrats aren't serious about tackling skyrocketing energy costs.
Democrats are as serious about the current energy problems as a wildebeast is serious about introducing one of its newborn to a lion. So now a slum qualifies as scenic. LOL. Makes one wonder if they keep the energy crisis going by design this way they can blame oil companies, get elected, and continue to hoodwink the uninformed.

Outer Continental Shelf Exploration R's: 81% YES. D's: 83% NO.

SUMMARY: 91% of House Republicans have historically voted to increase the production of America’s own oil and gas. 86% of House Democrats have historically voted against.

Does it really make you wonder for long? It's as clear as it can be imo. Your average leftist hasn't got a clue about energy and what it takes to get it. They seem to think that if they wish hard enough we'll all be driving electric cars in a month. The can't seem to come to grips with the fact that all those cars they see every day run on GASOLINE.

I almost believe that these things are an active attempt to do damage to the country. It is almost like they are trying to destroy America.

Democrats are so entrenched by the unions and lobbyists that they cannot do anything. It has gotten so bad that the welfare of our nation is at stake because of this sillyness. Its time we put real politicians back in control, who understand what Americans are going through, have been successful businessman and are not seasoned politicians.

The 242-175 vote,
Looks like a lot of R's voted with the D's. All those representatives must've had their reasons.

heh holicrap an LNG plant. jeezuz I hope they know where/what they are doing. Those things are so volatile, the ocean tanker docks are kept miles out to sea.

Down here, an LNG facility was recently laughed out of town.. errr, turned down when a energy company proposed to build one off the Ft.Lauderdale coast.
