Default Exactly what I've been talking about

Quote:
He tried to put that in context. “Combined with U.S. losses in other theaters in the global war on terror, we have lost well more than 1,000 already,” he said adding that the “civilized world” passed that mark long ago, pointing to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and attacks elsewhere.

The Bush administration has long linked the Iraq conflict to the war on terrorism. The Sept. 11 Commission concluded that Iraq and al-Qaida did not have a “collaborative relationship” before the 2001 attacks, and some have questioned to what extent foreign terror groups are involved in the anti-U.S. insurgency in Iraq.
Look at how Cheney tries to downplay the 1000 soldiers who have died in Iraq by claiming that we've lost them due to terrorism! This is an outright lie!!! He and Bush are to blame for each and every life lost in Iraq, not terrorism. You people want to know where I get my information...here it is...from Cheney and Bush.

"Bush and Cheney are to blame for each and every life lost in Iraq." You seem to forget who layed out the b*mbs and who shot at our soldiers. Do we just ignore what THEY have done? So now, instead of blaming radical Iraqis, we must only blame our president. wow.
Let me put myself in the mind of a liberal. (Ok, just a minute...clearing my head of all logical thinking) OK. Who is to blame for 9/11? Bush! Who caused the deaths of ALL of our soldiers? Bush! Who is the sole person responsible for every death in the world since the beginning of time? Bush! Who is to be held responsible for all the terrorists of the world? Bush! Who is the AntiChrist set to destroy the world? Bush! Who is the one who has slaughtered every living being in Iraq? Bush!

Yeah, I get it. I know how to play the Liberal Game. Blame Bush for every bad thing that happens in the world!! Weehaw! I get it now! Hey, you think we could add that Bush caused all of the Jews to die at those death camps???

Default Liberal rational.....

Bush is responsible for all U.S. military deaths in Iraq...So that must mean that Bush masterminds all the attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq. Bush is responsible for all U.S. military deaths in Iraq...Ok, well I guess if you being the the leftist liberal and following your typical rational, that is where the blame bus would stop. Bush IS responsible for the U.S. military being in the Persian Gulf, as a result of the war or terror. Bush is also responsible for sending U.S. forces to liberate the entire country of Iraq. Bush is also responsible for Momar Kadafi in Libya to give up all his WMD and come into compliance with U.N. resolutions. Bush is also responsible for the removal of the Taliban in Afghanistan. Bush is responsible spreading democracy in the Middle East. So if you are going to BLAME Bush, make sure you don't forget anything.

Default You guys

please, get off your soap box, why is bush the devil, he is a man who has to make harder decisions then you ever have, so I would be careful to blame all the deaths on him, unless he was the one shooting

Default Bush didn't pull the trigger or lob the grenade.

That doesn't make him not guilty. For all your talk of blaming 9/11 on the terrorists you forget the little detail the 9/11 had about Saddam Hussein's regime bearing no relation to Al-Qaida? Did you forget that?

You want to blame the insurgents? Fine, they pulled the trigger. But they wouldn't be attacking our troops if we weren't in their country.

President Bush knew the consequences for going to war in Iraq. He knew there would be a huge insurgency, as is characteristic of an occupied country full of Islamic radicals. To think that he could not have forseen this is naive. Of course there would be an insurgency.

But he didn't bother with a plan to quell any insurgency, did he? No. The plan was all dandy. We roll into Bagdad, raid a few palaces, find the WMDs we were looking for. What did Bush care at the time about what would happen after the U.S. invaded? That was way off, and if we could have found WMDs nobody would have cared that we had left Iraq in ruins.

But it didn't turn out that way. There were no WMDs. (Please, these arguments of "We just haven't found them yet" are getting old.) And so, because of that, international opinion went down the toilet, billions of dollars were wasted, an insurgency was validated and started, and now 1000+ soldiers are dead.

You might say that Iraq was a disaster. How could Bush have not forseen this? He probably did, but was too obsessed to actually draw up a real plan.

I think that actually follows the pattern of many right-wingers. John Kerry can use his stupid new catchphrase to describe it, though I do think it does make a plenty of sense.

"All hat, no cattle."

Don't you care about the 133 that have died in Afghanistan?

Why not mention them?

Would you please list your source for those figures? I was looking for this recently and had a difficult time finding reliable, unbiased information.

For example I found a site called www.iraqbodycount.org, but it's run by 2 British anti-war activists, so the information is most likely suspect because of their agenda.

Then of course there's Aljazeera, which says it is "100% sure that 37,000 civilian deaths is a correct estimate."
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exer...4C323A777F.htm

Though how an "estimate" can be 100% sure, I'll never know.

Anyway, please share your source - I would like to see some accurate numbers on this.

Perhaps I'm not following you. With this same line of reasoning, couldn't one also declare that FDR was responsible for the millions of dead in World War 2? Or that Truman was responsible for each and every death in Korea? Or that Kennedy was responisble for each and every death in Vietnam? Or that Lincoln was... (you see my point?)
