Default Vets to March on Washington 9/12/04

A peaceful protest on Washington is planned for Sunday, Sept. 12th @ 2PM
by veterans and those who love them, protesting the Kerry-Edwards ticket. The protest at the RNC got plenty of media coverage but so far, I haven't heard anything about this.

A Vietnam veterans' organization is gearing up for a rally at the U.S. Capitol Sunday entitled "Kerry Lied While Good Men Died."

Vietnam Vets for the Truth bills the event as a gathering of veterans who "served honorably" in Southeast Asia.

The group contends Kerry's claims about U.S. troops committing atrocities in Vietnam are lies and that, as such, he is unfit to serve as commander in chief.

It was Vietnam Vets for the Truth that revealed the fact Kerry is honored as an anti-war activist in a Ho Chi Minh City museum. A photograph of him being greeted by the general secretary of the Communist Party, Comrade Do Muoi, in July 1993 hangs in a special area of the facility.

Larry Bailey, a retired U.S. Navy SEAL captain with service in Vietnam, is the president of Vietnam Vets for the Truth.

"More than any other person, John Kerry is responsible for the false image of Vietnam veterans as dysfunctional misfits," Bailey said in a statement. "Kerry betrayed all of us when he returned from Vietnam.

"A lot of good people opposed the war, but some, like John Kerry, went too far. He joined the radical left wing of the anti-war movement and shared the microphone with Jane Fonda and other radicals. He promoted himself by telling unforgivable lies about Vietnam servicemen and women, and he did this under oath."

Kerry testified before the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1971, making horrific claims about alleged atrocities committed by American service members.

A statement from event organizers said the rally is scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern Sunday at the Upper Senate Park (Capitol Plaza Park). Though the rally is meant to honor Vietnam veterans, the group says anyone is welcome to attend.

And you probably won't see it covered by the liberal press either.
But hey.....the Today Show is going to give Kitty Kelly 3 segments regarding her anti-Bush book which is nothing but a gossip rag. Did they even have John O'Neill on for 1 segment? Does anybody know?

BTW, I hope the Vets have a good turn-out. They have as much right to protest as those whack-o's who protested at the RNC convention. Maybe C-Span will cover it, at least.
