Default Democrats cause high gas prices

Yep, again no compromise from the democrats. I love it, as gas continues to soar, they will be to blame for not getting anything done as usual.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/07/...ef=mpstoryview

Democrats say the Republican senators could offer whatever they want to offer in those two amendments, including measures to lift bans on offshore drilling and oil exploration in the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve -- measures Democrats adamantly oppose.

9% approval rating? Well deserved bunch of losers.

SAN FRANCISCO (Marke(*)(*)(*)(*)ch) -- Crude-oil futures fell nearly $4 Wednesday, as data showed U.S. inventories fell less than expected and as concerns faded that Hurricane Dolly would pose much of a threat to energy infrastructure in the Gulf of Mexico. Crude for September delivery, the new front-month contract, fell $3.98 cents, or 3.1%, to settle at $124.44 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. U.S. crude inventories fell 1.6 million in the week ended July 18, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported. Analysts surveyed by Platts had expected a decline of 1.9 million barrels. The hurricane is not expected to have a major impact on oil and natural gas operations in the Gulf, weather analysts said.

I guess the "dems" caused this too. Cool.

So you're saying this is the only reason gas prices are high?

At least as much as BB claims the dems "caused" current high prices.

Let's see if I got this straight. At one point, I heard a lot of Bush lovers insist that we could NOT blame Bush for the high gas prices. However, now I'm hearing that it's OK to blame the Democrats.

Go figure. I guess there's no logic in politics.

Or maybe this is reflection of Obama's success on the world tour.

(*)(*)(*)(*) those Democrats. Gas is $1.21/L here and I can't vote against them. That being said, it was approaching $1.40 a few weeks ago, so things are getting better.

Hey, two things that happen at the same time indicate cause and effect to the Rethugs!

They are the reason we are in the middle east, and the reason we will continue to have terrorism because they can't get anything done to make us energy dependent.

They have failed on our housing crisis and our oil, what a bunch of failures, and the public will remember them.

Ok, let me throw this one in there too. There's always an upside!

Democrats! Always trying to save lives! Republicans: Let them die.

Quote:
High Gas Prices Save Lives

One happy upside to the $4 gallon of gas: traffic deaths have plummeted. The National Safety Council finds that in some states, deaths from traffic accidents have declined by as much as 20 percent this year compared with the same period last year. Indiana, which has seen a 26 percent decline, may hit the lowest number of traffic deaths in 18 years. The country hasn't seen such a precipitous fall in traffic deaths since the Arab oil embargo in 1973. The AP reports on speculation that people are simply driving less, thus fewer accidents, but also that high gas prices and a sour economy might be keeping drunks at home rather out on the roads.

One possible contributor they don't mention is Americans' mass abandonment of the SUV, which has been responsible for a disproportionate number of highway deaths both from rollovers and also from squashing other smaller cars that might survive an accident with a sedan. Now, if Congress would follow Sen. John Warner's advice and lower the speed limit, the nation might see a massive reduction in highway carnage that would even make Ralph Nader proud!
