Default The war in Iraq has already been lost

Quote:
But, according to the US military's leading strategists and prominent retired generals, Bush's war is already lost. Retired general William Odom, former head of the National Security Agency, told me: 'Bush hasn't found the WMD. Al-Qaida, it's worse, he's lost on that front. That he's going to achieve a democracy there? That goal is lost, too. It's lost.' He adds: 'Right now, the course we're on, we're achieving Bin Laden's ends.' ...

Interesting reading...

Right under the title, Far graver than Vietnam the editorial says,Most senior US military officers now believe the war on Iraq has turned into a disaster on an unprecedented scale

You can't possibly be taking this seriously, can you?

I did read it, even though the credibility was lost so early on. Where in the entire article is there evidence to support the assertion that "most senior US military officers now believe the war on Iraq has turned into a disaster on an unprecedented scale?"
Apparently, you aren't up on how classified material is handled. Also, current military officers are very restricted in what they can say. (Remember when that colonel made an ugly comment about Clinton and had to retire? He was only expressing his personal opinion!). Do you honestly think that Hoare received info about when the attack on Fallujah will be? I don't pretend to know most senior military officers, but I know a few. I doubt if Sidney Blumenthal knows even one.

Default Here's a quote from the 2nd link

Quote:
For years the conventional wisdom among members of the Army Reserve was that they were unlikely to get mobilized, and if they did it would be for non-combat duty in a secure rear area, far from the fighting. The war in Iraq, where no soldier is immune from attack, has shattered that belief.
Ding ding ding... this is your wake up call. We're at war now. 9/11 changed everything. This is for real folks. Stop trying to pretend that it's 9/10

Default And the 3rd

Quote:
While he said the presence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq was used as a ``fig leaf'' to justify the war against Hussein's regime, ``I would say that it was still the right thing to liberate the Iraqi people,'' he said.
Yes the writer of this article is critical, yet there is still the major concession that it is a just war. For example:
Quote:
``Ultimately Iraq can be a stable place but it needs a lot of help,'' Collins said.
So, while you read the three articles and see only negative, I see negative with opportunity for positive things to happen from it.

Default Why is it they never name names??

I have watched Fox news and the most notable was on Neil Cavuto Friday. Two young men who were seriously wounded in Iraq were on and while they won't be going back to Iraq because one lost a limb and the other was burned quite badly they both agreed that they wish they could go back and help finish the job. Both said the media is not portraying accurately what is going on in Iraq and that more good is happening in that country than the bad areas like Fallujah and Najaf. It is really sickening to me that John Kerry and other prominent democrats are constantly siting the bad when they know there is a lot of good, namely the removal of Saddam Hussein.
Who are these sources? Let's get some names and let's see who they are voting for or working for. I don't trust the news and I haven't for a long time no matter who they are because they all have an agenda. No one just reports anymore and I think that is sad.

So if something disagrees with Bush..that makes it wrong? whats Bush, a demi-god?

Fact is that artical is very true, and you don't need to have secret military documents to prove it. America bundled it compared to the UK. The Iraqi population hate US troops and now america is trying to mobilise iraqi security as fast as it can so US troops can leave, and in their place Iraqi soldiers die defending the pipelines. It is lost for the americans...now they're just tryingto find the best way to retreat.
