Given the choice of either "igniting the Arab region" or letting Iran develop nuclear weapons, I'll opt for the first without blinking.

And I see this as a major problem plaguing the US. Too many people would be quick to incite massive death and destruction for the sake of preventing a country from possibly developing a nuke. This type of paranoia and utter self-absorption -- not terrorism -- will bring us down as a society.

That would take less than a full invasion, but accomplishing this goal and keeping them in check would not be easily done. It would require a great deal of effort, more than some bombs dropped and SF roaming around.

Liberty:
What do you mean by "keeping them in check"? If they attempt any sort of conventional warfare they will be crushed, plain and simple.

I mean that if we were to take out KNOWN nuclear facilities, that would not be the end of it. Keeping them from continuing with the program is another matter; bombs are not the answer to everything.

Sorry, the thought of Iran "rubbing its palms together now at the ease with which they can meddle in our affairs" is ludicrous. They are worried. Very worried.

Are you denying that Iran has been infiltrating Iraq and undermining our interests there, and is glad to do it? Are you denying that Iran can see (just as the world and our own military brass can see) how US military resources are stretched thin right now? Iran also knows that most Americans would not support another military incursion.

They see a nuclear bomb as the only way to protect themselves from America.
They're right.

So in essence, you are saying that US aggression has increased the nuclear arms race. I agree.
