Default "Most Ethical Congress Ever"

yeah right.

http://hotair.com/archives/2008/08/1...legal-exports/

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...403217_pf.html

So goes Jack Murtha, lobbying for a company that was convicted last year of illegally exporting military equipment.

The company may go out of business now b/c they got caught and Murtha is trying to save it now, saying they are truthful.

Note to Murtha, they were convicted of doing something they werent suppose to be doing. Is that your idea of truth and honest business practices?

I guess it is about as truthful and honest as say, Murtha calling his fellow Marines murderers in Haditha, Iraq.

Ladies and Gents, I give you the Democrat talking point of:

"The Most Ethical Congress Ever!"

Murtha is a joke, a total crook and he is still yet to apologize to the Marines.

So let me get this straight. A company is convicted of violating export law and fined just $20,000 -- an indication of just how minor this violation was.

But the second part of the punishment -- automatically barring it from defense export contracts for three years -- threatens to put it out of business.

It being in Murtha's district, he asks the government to give the company another chance.

There was no lobbying, no contributions, no financial or political connections of any sort. Just a Congressman writing a letter on behalf of a constituent, something Congressmembers do every day of the year.

And you think this is an example of corruption?

Heck, even CREW, which lists Murtha as one of the most corrupt members of Congress, doesn't think this is a big deal. From your link:

Still, Sloan said, writing a single letter in support of a local company that is losing jobs does not seem excessive. "It seems to me there could be some legitimate reasons he did it," she said.

And here's what Murtha did:

In his letter to Trimble, Murtha contended that the company's trouble resulted from a "miscommunication."

"I respectfully request that you give every consideration to lifting the debarments placed against this company," Murtha wrote. He asked the agency to meet with Schmidt and his attorney so that they could "present Electro-Glass's case and to show their sincere efforts to ensure compliance."

How awful!!
