Exclamation Chinese Pastor Appealing Labor Camp Sentence

In addition, Bibles and Christian materials have been confiscated from their homes. In 2005, Zhongxin established The Rainbow Missions Fellowship and Timothy Bible training school, in Jining city, Shandong Province, where Christian leaders are trained. His next hearing was Aug. 14,2008.
This is outrageous! Why is it that being a Christian is illegal in an MFN country? Why are all the US companies whoring after a market place that condones such state-sponsored oppression?

I agree. The Chinese behavior is outrageous. I'm just not sure what would be the best way to motivate them to change their ways and show respect for human rights. Human rights abusers seem notoriously resistant to pressure for change.

Indeed, how does one enforce human rights changes upon a soveriegn nation without the use of force?

I think there might be more to this story than is being told. Being a practicing Christian, having a Bible and so on are not illegal in China. There are hundreds of Christian churches just in Beijing. Somethings fishy.

Then the multitudes of people being arrested for having Bible studies in their homes is a myth? Do you have any personal knowledge? Or do you just go from thread to thread casting doubt without evidence?

Yes I have personal first hand knowledge of religious practice in China. How do you think I know about churches in Beijing?

You've not been to China have you? Have you ever been out of the US?

If your mom and dad ever take you some day you'll see churches of many denominations in China, particularly in Beijing and Shanghai. You'll even see *gasp* Bibles in them!

Christianity has existed in China since about 700 AD.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet especially if it's written by a religious nutter with a political agenda and funds to raise.

A church or pastor in China can preach about the Christian God until the wolves howl. They cannot criticize the Chinese government and when that line is crossed the boom is lowered. They're warned, and if they continue they're arrested. It's not freedom, but that's how China works.

Religious practitioners are not as the OP claims arrested simply for Bible study.
