Default Pelosi Gets Blasted By Catholic Bishops

Pelosi gets unwanted lesson in Catholic theology
By RACHEL ZOLL, AP Religion Writer
Thu Aug 28, 3:12 AM ET

Politics can be treacherous. But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi walked on even riskier ground in a recent TV interview when she attempted a theological defense of her support for abortion rights.

Roman Catholic bishops consider her arguments on St. Augustine and free will so far out of line with church teaching that they have issued a steady stream of statements to correct her.

The latest came Wednesday from Pittsburgh Bishop David Zubik, who said Pelosi, D-Calif., "stepped out of her political role and completely misrepresented the teaching of the Catholic Church in regard to abortion."

Isn't Joseph Biden a Catholic? Maybe he should be asked to weigh-in on Pelosi's views and tell us what he thinks about it. Think he sides with Pelosi or the Bishops? Unfortunately we already KNOW what Obama's views on abortion are.

Abortion is what these guys are concerned with? Ahh, I get it. Their thinking is if you abort a child you can't have sex with it later. I cant stand the Catholic church.

I wonder if you say the same thing about cops, firemen and the military, when one of those people steps out of line. I am not Catholic, but you sir are a moron for stereotyping a group of people like that.

Kronik has a point.. the crux of the problem is not so much the rank & file occasional priest who anal raped young boys that trusted these adults, the main problem is The Church's US leadership and the so called "real" Catholics that ignored/covered up the sexaul assualt crisis for decades.

A general rule of thumb for Catholics IMO would be do as we say not as we do.

Yeah I can't figure out how to be moral on my own. I will just have someone else tell me what I need to do.

there were terrible things done but not by all priests, clumping them all together is wrong , bigoted and just not right

Default I thought she converted to the dark side?

Didn't Nancy Pelosi convert to Islam on her trip to Syria or something?

Why didn't Obama pick her for VP anyway? We could have had two muslims on the dem ticket!
