I'm new here but thought I'd jump right in.
I'm 34 and now a former republican.
McCain in my opinion will be the same of the past 8 years.
However what really made/makes me sick about McCain is his constant going on about his Vietnam/POW experience.
It's his answer to everything, nothing else.
It seem as though everything he did in Washington would lead me to believe was follow the sheep, vote how his buddies voted, not think for himself, nor care about the people of this country.
So his experience in voting for legislation is null and avoid, he comes across to me as a dummy follower......but wait, he was a Vietnam/POW, those are his credentials and he's sticking by them.

The Vietnam/POW issue seems to be an answer to everything he's done in his life.

What will you do about health care?
"Well, I was in Vietnam and a POW, I know what it's like to be gravely ill".

Economics Mr. McCain?
"Well, in Vietnam when I was a POW, I had no money, so I know how it feels to be broke".

I'm not sure if I prefer that answer on economics or his actual quote of, "The issue of economics is something that I've really never understood as well as I should."
That's great, considering our country is not doing so great economically.

Social Security Mr.McCain?
"Well, in Vietnam when I was a POW..."

You get the picture.
Obama for some reason TO ME of course, seems like he'll genuinely think over issues and work on things.
I like that he picked someone with experience in Washington like Biden, that was another concern for me with Obama.
So there was one of his big first decisions and he got it right.
This really shouldn't be about party lines people, these are issues about us.
The winning and deciding factor for me about Obama was, he went to help a community after Harvard. He didn't go to a law firm and go for the big coin at 23. I know most 23 year olds today would probably do that - my younger brother being one of them.
For someone at 23 to help a community of elderly people and blue collar workers, that speaks volumes. Screw party lines.

Oh, by the way, did you guys know McCain served in Vietnam and was a POW?

And Obama is milking that he is an African American. What a chance that the Democratic convention was held on the anniversary of the "I have a dream speech" by Martin Luther King. In any case I dont blame either candidate of using their life expriences as part of their Resume. Its a Job interview and if they dont tell us all their merit, history and qualifications how can we make a qualified desicion.

Yeah he's not milking his POW status.

I've never once seen Obama reflect on the fact that he's black "um in a moment of seriousness" when someone asked him a question.

How else the guy meant to win the election? He doesn't have a choice but to go for the sympathy vote!

What made me this way?
John McCain did.

He worries me, this is one of the very issues that concern me, he always talks about his POW experience, it's irritating to say the least - and that's an understatement truth be told.
Like all politicians he flip-flops, but in his case, more so than anyone I've heard.
I think he's the kind of guy that would sell out his ex-wife and grandmother for a vote, hell, maybe even his current wife?
Real nice.
He also doesn't offer much change other than Bush and considering how he's faired, I'm done with it.
Does anyone here know that McCain served in Vietnam and was a POW?

I never thought I'd admit to this, but Obama seems to be the breath of fresh air for "change" that we need. I'd much rather send my vote to Obama than give it to McCain who served in Vietnam, was a POW and well, served in Vietnam and was a POW, anyone know that?

Obama's speech was going to make or break my vote last night and it made it.
Vietnam, POW, McCain, you guys/gals know about that I assume?
welcome. *cough* POW *cough*

John McCain was a POW longer than Obama has served in the senate.

I wonder how long before Huffington Post starts something up attacking Palins newborn baby.

Nothing is beneath this crowd......

(you can already see examples of such an act on this very forum from some "people".....they're just not organized around an article from Huffington yet like they are with this)
