Former President Jimmy Carter said Thursday that John McCain is “milking every possible drop of advantage” from his time as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, USA Today reported Thursday.

"John McCain was able to weave in his experience in a Vietnam prison camp, no matter what the question was," Carter said. "It's much better than talking about how he's changed his total character between being a senator, a kind of a maverick … and his acquiescence in the last few months with every kind of lobbyist pressure that the right-wing Republicans have presented."

You overestimate the general population. You know how stupid the mass really is? This isn't just Americans who are stupid, but generally 80 percent of the world population are too stupid to reach such a conclusion.

the more they read articles and see "McCain milking POW status?" on television, as well as examples of it... they wont have to come to the conclusions all by themselves.

If you're right about the stupidity of the population, then he's only playing to their ignorance.

That's what any campaign is about, getting as much votes as you can, playing ones stupidity is just one of those ways. Who is flashier, who looks the look, and who can present himself the best. It is far from the contents what the campaigns are all about.

John McCain's honor while being held captive as a POW is commendable but has nothing to do with either his qualifications for office or his political agenda. When he waves the "POW flag" it merely repesents a failure to address the issues of America today. Personally I believe McCain is suffering from Post Tramatic Stress Syndrome from his days in captivity which is reflected by the irrational anger he often displays. He is well know for his outbursts of anger which reflect a deep psychological disorder. Do we really want someone in the White House that is mentally unstable?
