Default Rampant Government Criminality in Milwaukee

The racketeer-influenced and corrupt organization known as the city government of Milwaukee is stealing a mentally and physically disabled man's home because he did not pay a $50 parking fine.

Somethings not adding up. Hes "mentally and physically disabled" but owns a 250K house? So he obviously pays his mortage according to the article, but says he was emotionally unfit to deal with his ticket? BTW, this is not corrupt behavior, anyone who pulls the same crap will have the same thing happen to them, in almost any state. If you owe the govt $$$ and dont pay they either sieze assets or throw your ass in jail

At first it seems as though the government is simply following the letter of the law and not playing favorites (also known as equality) just because of his handicaps. But if you look closer two key bits of information are revealed:
1) "The Social Security Administration has deemed Tubic mentally and physically disabled since 2001."
2) "A hearing is scheduled for Sept. 11."
And what do you get when you put these two pieces of information together? That's right, September 11, 2001. This is clearly another government orchestrated plot designed to oppress the American people. Good work Truth-Bringer.

Just kidding. Conspiracy theories are dumb.

So seizing a $250,000 house and leaving someone homeless is appropriate punishment for a parking fine of $50 in your opinion?

Did I say that? I simply corrected your statement in reguards to calling Milwaukee officials corrupt, which they are not (at least from this article). Im sorry, but ignorance of the law is not a defense (I've tried). Furthermore, he does not owe them $50, he owes them $2600 due to his refusal to pay his original fine.

Instead of calling people corrupt on the internet for simply enforcing the law, perhaps you should write your local congressman if you would like the law changed.

So in other words seizing the $250,000 house of a disabled man and leaving him homeless is appropriate punishment for a parking fine of $50. Thanks for letting us know where you stand.

He refused to pay it for years. That is why they took it. He can easily pay it and then get his house back. But he's being an *** who feels like he's entitled to special treatment. Well we live in a land of equality. People are equal under the law.

Exactly. Im not sure why Truth Bringer cant seem to understand this. He basically said "f the gov't", and the gov't said "I f harder". There is no difference in me saying "I owe the govt $50 bucks on my taxes this year, but Im not going to pay. I will ignore every notice they send, let the interest compound, and when I go to court I will say I was emotionally unfit to handle my taxes (even though I am sound enough to pay all of my other bills).

If you feel so bad for him truth bringer, shell out the $2600 for his ignorance and we can all move on.

What I find interesting is the original ticket. It was given for having a van without license plates parked in his driveway. Why does the government care if I have a vehicle on private property without tags? My property, my vehicle, so what? As soon as I drive it into the street, sure, go ahead and tag me, but parked in my own driveway? Leave me alone.

This a statist, authoritarian argument. The original intent of the Constitution was not about the "gov't f harder" as you indicated in such eloquent prose. The Constitution exists to bind the government and to prevent it from stealing property where it has no legitimate authority to do so. You're demonstrating the mentality of a slave by believing that government can do whatever it wants to you if it pleases. I guess you wouldn't have a problem if they sent agents into his home to blow his brains out.

But VolvoDriver has nicely illustrated the real root issue here:

Quote:
"[the original ticket] was given for having a van without license plates parked in his driveway. Why does the government care if I have a vehicle on private property without tags? My property, my vehicle, so what? As soon as I drive it into the street, sure, go ahead and tag me, but parked in my own driveway? Leave me alone."
Government has no right to tell people what they can and cannot do on their own property, as long as they are behaving peacefully, honestly and voluntarily.
