Default Gustov to reexpose the 18 million cracks in the Republican party.

President Bush and the Republicans have had three years to respond to the Katrina Disaster. Three years to prepair for the event that is about to take place.

Isn't it ironic how Mother Nature has brought the Repubicans outward care for it's own citizens full circle. How a storm will reopen old wounds and not let the repubicans hide from their own reality. The reality that they have yet to put our country first about anything.
Iraq first is their rule of thumb and has been for years. To heck with our citizens is their rule of thumb.

How ironic that they are now forced to openly care for their country in ways we aren't used to seeing. How ironic they are going to be force to actually put their country first.

Three years to repair, rebuild and restablize a devestated city.

Let us HOPE and Pray that Bush has done his job properly.

I think the question that is going to be asked repeatedly over the next several weeks will be..
How do you sufficiently, Rapidly and throughly repair and restablize a devestated city any where in this nation while you are having to divert TRILLIONS of dollars and a large portion of your manpower to fight Bush's and McCain's war in Iraq? Iraq who has billions in surplus?

And that includes a devestated city like Moosejaw Alaska.

Exactly which country does McCain and Bush want to put first?

From what I'm hearing president Bush is going San Antonio to monitor the situation and that their is a bit more preparation and covering of the rearend. The problem is that Bush is finally showing concern for his own citizens 3 years to late.

Yes I do agree that the Rupublicans with their new Princess will experience 18 milllions cracks in something, but it won't be a glass ceiling.

It will be the cracks in their own party.

This is a very low point for liberals.

Insecure about your candidate much?

Default No infact..

I'm very proud of our candidate and his very wise and logical choice for VP, who by the way is a heartbeat away from the presidentcy. It sure does sound like Obama had his country's interests in mind when he made his choice. As if he put his country first.

How about your candidate?

gustav was an excuse
there was nothing virtuous about the republican response
it was just a great opportunity to avoid the embarrassment of dicknbush attending the convention
and after the successful democratic convention, to go forward with the one in the twin cities would have displayed and contrasted the difference of competence, planning and execution of the two campaigns

right, george had to go to texas to check out supplies. anyone else notice he flew back to the white house monday. the wimp had laura stand in his place

dubya has always been a coward, as has dick. recognize them for what they really are

Give me a small break here. You loudmouth liberals are really getting to me.

You defeat your own arguements. You say that socialised healthcare will be great, and then complain that socialised disaster relief is a failure. They're all controlled by the federal government, and if you would open your eyes you would see that the federal government does not have a single agency that actually does it's job well.

You will notice that FEMA failed to rebuild New Orleans, but then, when REPUBLICAN governor Bobby Jindal took office earlier this year, rebuilding began to take off.

I'm not saying republicans are any better than democrats. Republicans blatantly lead the country down the wrong path, and Democrats unintentionally lead the country down the wrong path. There's only one party that knows what to do, and nobody pays attention to them.

Obama Decries Lobbyist Cash; Biden Has Reaped It In

ABC News August 24, 2008 11:35 AM

The Center for Responsive Politics has a thorough analysis of Sen. Joe Biden's campaign cash intake now that Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., has selected him as his running mate.

The industry that has given Biden the most cash has been lawyers/law firms ($6,567,404) followed by real estate ($1,297,690). Pro-Israel groups are the 8th biggest contributing industry.

Obama may decry lobbyist cash (or at least federal lobbyist cash), but Biden has taken $344,400 from lobbyists since 1997 -- making lobbyists the 10th biggest contributing industry.

That seems a direct contradiction of the Obama message.

Biden's largest business contributor over the years has been MBNA, the credit card company from his home state of Delaware. Conservative journalist Byron York has written about whether Biden's relationship with MBNA has been too cozy.

The Democrat's son worked for the credit card industry while he pushed through laws helping its bottom line.

By CHRISTOPHER DREW and MIKE McINTIRE, New York Times

Last update: August 24, 2008 - 10:51 PM

During the years that Sen. Joseph Biden was helping the credit card industry win passage of a law making it harder for consumers to file for bankruptcy protection, his son received more than $400,000 in consulting fees from one of the largest companies pushing for the changes, aides to Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign acknowledged Sunday.

Biden's son, Hunter, received the fees from MBNA Corp. from 2001 to 2005 for consulting work on online banking issues. Aides to Obama, who chose Biden as his vice presidential running mate Saturday, said that the younger Biden, who works as both a lawyer and lobbyist in Washington, never lobbied for MBNA and that there was nothing improper about any of the payments.

But campaign officials acknowledged that the connection between the Bidens and MBNA, the enormous financial services company then based in their home state of Delaware, was one of the most sensitive issues they examined while vetting the senator for a spot on the ticket.

Biden's support for the bankruptcy changes, which were signed into law in 2005, puts him at odds with Obama, who opposed the bill and has criticized the presumptive Republican nominee, Arizona Sen. John McCain, for supporting it. Consumer advocates and other Democratic allies remain sharply critical of Biden's actions, saying in recent days that they could hamper the campaign's efforts to attack the Republicans over their handling of the nation's credit crisis.

http://www.startribune.com/politics/.../27340044.html
Way to put the country's best interest first. Predatory interest rates charged by the credit industry and Old Joe wants to make sure the consumer gets stuck when 70% of bankruptcy's are due to medical bills. That's change isn't it? OOOOOO that smell, can't ya smell that smell...........
