And so I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories,” he continued.

The candidate who himself was born to a teenage mom, reminded reporters, “You know my mother had me when she was 18, and how a family deals with issues and you know teenage children, that shouldn’t be the topic of our politics and I hope that anybody who is supporting me understands that’s off limits.”

When asked about an “unnamed McCain advisor” accusing the Obama campaign of spreading despicable rumors surrounding Bristol Palin online, Obama interrupted the reporter mid-question. “I am offended by that statement. There is no evidence at all that any of this involved us,” he said directly. “Our people were not involved in any way in this, and they will not be. And if I ever thought that it was somebody in my campaign that was involved in something like that - they’d be fired,” he added.

With that, Obama boarded his airport-bound bus to head to Milwaukee for a rally.

Oh good Lord. Dems are even stranger and more hate-filled than I ever imagined they were. First going after a Downs baby---an INNOCENT BABY---and now this crapola. It's disgusting. And it's about as low as one can get.

Cindy McCain: Cindy McCain, wife of John McCain, said Thursday the spouses of the presidential candidates should be allowed to have some privacy.

"I do not think that spouses and family members … are fair game," she told CNN's John King.

"There has to be some decorum left in politics and in American journalism as well. Our husbands are the candidates," she said.

This is what MOST Americans believe, I think. I certainly spoke out against the attacks on Chelsea Clinton when she was just a young teenager and all the nasty comments about her looks. I thought it was horrible to do that to a little girl who was NOT in politics. And I said so at the time.

Now---IF a candidate's wife or GROWN children inject themselves into the election by speaking out on issues, etc.....then they must be willing to accept any criticisms of what they say on the issues. Even then, they are NOT the candidate.

I've seen kids with bad mono - they look drawn, pale and have dark circles under their eyes. They normally lose a significant amount of weight from the disease. Bristol appears to be quiet healthy and well-rested and plumper than usual (compared to pics of her before and after the spring of 2008 ).

This is not an attack on a 16 yo unwed teen but on a mother who would attempt to cover up the pregnancy by saying she was pregnant and saying the child is her child. While i would not think less of Sarah Palin for taking the child of her teen daughter to raise as her own (in fact, I would think more of her for doing that), lying about it would bring Palin's honesty and integrity into question IMO. And Palin's honesty and integrity are valid things for us to be considering right now as she up for a post that puts her one heartbeat from the presidency.

Sorry right-wingers, but there is plenty of evidence here to support reasonable doubt - and Palin needs to clear this up or it will hang over this entire election.

IS this what the Democrat party has come to??????

I respect the fact that Obama is denouncing the trash being thrown , Obama supporters wouldn't like if people started slamming his mother as an unmarried Tramp and His Dad as non existing and a child support dodger?

That's fine. IMO it's normally well researched and well written. I could care less about Sarah Palin's teenage daughter's pregnancy. I'm much more concerned with Palin's political views and fitness to hold office.

I hate this kind of story. It's so unnecessary. Unless the Diebold machines screw up another election--Obama will win.

I don't see McCain/Palin as anything more than another four years of Bush's failed policies. I don't think they can win on that.
