One would say that you as an (educated?) adult should know that as an American citizen you can't just go to Canada or Sweden and settle there pemanently as you stated............but you don't.

I could got there within a few months as a skilled immigrant...if I wished to, which I don't. For starters, I don't care for the Canadian system of government (known too many Canadian immigrants who spoke candidly about the problems with it), and further, it's too (*)(*)(*)(*) cold up there.

I have no desire to go to Sweden at any point.

is that getting the permission to immigrate from the Canadian authorities is extremely easy. Canada has historically served as a place of refuge for those who felt they needed to leave the U.S., including draftees during Vietnam who had NO PROBLEMS getting into Canada and staying there indefinitely.

No it's not Catz. You can't come to Canada unless you can prove that you have a skill not offered by any Canadian, or are sponsored by a resident in Canada.

In fact, from my own experience, its easier to get in the US right now than Canada (Hell, the US government is giving jobs to Canadians right now like Candy).

And the crime rate here is the lowest per capita of any city over 3 million in the US (or it was as of two years ago when they last reported it). So let's hear these town names.
