It will affect you *way* beyond your personal investments.

Would a crash fix the problem? Sure. Just like the Great Depression fixed the problems that sprouted up in the Roaring Twenties. Or like amputation will fix the problem of athlete's foot.

But you would strongly prefer that we try less-painful remedies first. No need to cut off your foot if a little antifungal cream will solve the problem.
