Default History in Illinois?

We all know about the Lincoln-Douglass Senate Debates and how important that even was to US history. But I am watching the Illinois senate debate between Keyes and Obama, and I must ask, is this the first time that two black men have been campaigning for senate?

I have to say, both candidates are quite good, though I support Keyes' views more than Obama's. But I think both men may have a very bright future in each of their political parties.

Default Obama does indeed have a bright future ahead of him...

Keyes, however will be done. This will be his thrid failed attempt in a Senatorial bid, and he failed miserably in his Presidential bid. He also just this week got fined for campaign violations in one of his former runs.

He is indeed very eloquent, especially when it concerns his bigotry towards gays....

Default HANS...

..Alan Keyes will NEVER have a future in the Republican Party as long as DICK CHENEY is alive. You do not get away with calling "Darth Cheney's daughter a "selfish hedonist".

Alan Keyes is finished. If he is so brilliant, why was he not offered a position in Jr's cabinet in 2000? That is because he is so far to the right that Keyes alone will erase any support that the GOP will have with Black America.

the last I heard Keyes was about even with Obama, but I don't know if he can actually win it. Obama is a stud in the Democratic party right now, but Keyes is one of the better speakers out there. In the debates I think he just looks better than Obama who is much more reserved.

Where did you hear that?! Obama is polling 40-50% higher than Keyes!

Obama is such a shoe-in, he's spending more time lately stumping for other Dems than he is for himself!

Yeah! Obama 64% Keyes 20%. A 44% difference. Sure, that's well within the MOE, right? Yeah, that race could go either way, for sure.

Default Sorry

I heard that Keyes was gaining ground, but I guess he didn't really gain all that much.

Well it does look like he gained 6 points between truebrit's post and glowdog's.
