Default NAACP vs. IRS

I hear the IRS is reviewing the NAACP's status due to perceived attempts at undue influence on voters in the current presidential race.

Kicker supposedly is, they're shrilly crying that this is all an attempt to "disenfranchise" "people of color."

Any mainstream reports on this yet? Thoughts?

Default HMMMM..

I wonder if the IRS will go after churches that are asking their congregations to vote for their Candidates of choice (on both sides)..

Default So when does the IRS go after the Catholic Church then?

Or does it only apply if you are "unduly influencing" in the direction of the Democrats?

Lt AWOL is behaving more and more like Nixon...

Don't republicans ever learn?

Default Here's the story

Sounds like a legitimate beef...the NAACP has constantly violated their status. It's about time someone had the balls and ethical fiber to investigate.

Default No different than the Christian Coalition

It's simple. Their tax-exempt status is predicated on the fact that they are a civil rights group. If they want to go out and get all political and tell people how to vote and blast a candidate in the name of their organization, then they lose their tax-exempt status.

Is the NAACP supposed to be exempt from not only taxes....but from all the rules too?

In case any of you have forgotten, several years ago, in 1999...... the Christian Coalition lost it's tax-exempt status after the IRS examined it and what it was doing. And I'm betting none of you really cared about that either. So.....why should the NAACP be any different? If they want to be partisan and political.....then they can give up their tax-exempt status just like the Christian Coalition did.
