Default wording of the interpretation of the mistranslation

That's how the CNN article worded it, not me. Plenty of people have suggested there was a threat, but perhaps "toward the individual states" would have been a better way to characterize the mistranslation.

Regardless, the fact that there was confusion around the interpretation of the concept of a "state" remains the central issue.

I don't know where you pull that from: Al-Jazeera executives said they decided to post the entire speech because rumors were circulating that the network omitted parts that "had direct threats toward specific states, which was totally untrue...", but okay. Maybe something was lost in the translation of the "rumors" to al-Jazeera. It makes no sense to respond to claims of a poor translation of what was previously realeased by releasing additional portions of the speech.

Good one...
I believe an Al Qaeda source's translation of the words of Al Qaeda's leader, that is all.

Similarly, I believe FOX could more accurately translate a Bush speech into English than Al-Jazeera.

Hey, I can understand not liking Bush. But WHY do you think that he is killing anyone for what they believe in? Iraq is full of different factions, shiites, sunnis, kurds...your comment makes no sense. But in a way, it proves JP5 right - because that is exactly what bin laden uses to recruit his terrorists - he tells them that we are waging a war on islam. You don't believe that do you? When is the last time you ran into an american or republican who said he wanted to wage war on islam or that he even gave a (*)(*)(*)(*) about islam?

Get real. Maybe I'll vote for Bush after all, just to differentiate myself from the dippiness that regularly spews forth from your party...

Default Al Jazeera

One would have to assume that they have a fair grasp of Arabic.

That's not at issue... the question is whether they accurately translated Arabic into English.

Default And they have a demonstrated track record

of whitewashing their English translations to cover up the Jihad agenda.
