Uncle Sam Or Uncle Tom???
Mr. Ralph Nader further questioned the kind of presidency Barack Obama will engage in. In an interview with Shepherd Smith on Fox News, he stated, "To put it very simply, he is our first African-American president, or he will be. And we wish him well. But his choice, basically, is whether he is going to be Uncle Sam for this country, or Uncle Tom for the giant corporations." http://www.myfoxhouston.com/myfox/pa...Y&pageId=3.2.1

I used to sort of like Nader before he played "the spoiler" in the presidential elections of 2000 & 2004, siphoning off enough votes in both cases for Dubya to win.
I no longer liked him, but I still sort of respected him. But now, hearing him so gratuitously play the race card against Obama, I no longer repect him (despite his good work in decades past). He seems like a bitter has-been who knows he's political toast, but apparently he wants to stay in the news by making outrageous comments such as this. Sad and pathetic. |

Nader is correct!!!!! Other Third Parties got more than the 537 votes needed by Gore but Nader is singled out for some unkonwn reason. There were about 6 or 7 parties also running for President in 2000. http://www.commondreams.org/headline/2008/11/05-8

The fact is that Obama does have a "mandate from the People" and he needs to recognize that fact. As he stated in his acceptance address he needs to be dedicated to listening to all Americans especially those that didn't vote for him.
