Despite the moral and legal ramifications of the actions taken by the American and French soldiers, I think that it is blatantly obvious that global media seeks to isolate and condemn America and America alone. Tis sad, but that is the opinion of the world. Unfortunately, I think that the global media is decisively Anti-American and will spread rumor and lie alike as fact till people believe it. America, on the other hand, has done a (*)(*)(*)(*) poor job at getting our message across, our take on the issues, and our side of things. And it's proof right here. An American soldier shoots an unarmed combatant, BAM he should be locked up, international trial this and international court that. The French do it.....it's like nothing happened. What about Oil for Food? The money Saddam used from that to reward the families of suicide bomber. Again, that side does not get out. And you are left with a large populace of the world that is anit-American without having really met Americans, knowing what our country and people are about, or getting the full story. I fear that unless we actually take steps at promoting international relations and letting the people know what our side is as well, things will only get worse.

What I find most disturbing is the fact that the most recent outbreak of violence between the French and the citizens of the Ivory Coast got started way back on Nov. 6th. Only now are people starting to see the comparisons between the U.S. involvement and the French's obvious excessive force. These people are NOT TERRORISTS, they are protesters. Where is the outcry from the U.N. about the French's actions? It is simple to understand, the U.N. protects it's own.
