Default House & Senate Join Bush Administration

Good to see that the Democrats have finally come around to supporting the Bush administration on this issue----even if it does come rather late.

WASHINGTON (AFP) – The US House of Representatives on Friday joined the Senate in offering staunch support to Israel as the conflict rages on in Gaza, calling on Hamas to end rocket attacks.

"Today, we reaffirm that Israel, like any nation, has a right to self-defense when under attack," said House speaker Nancy Pelosi.

"The rocket and mortar attacks from Gaza, which were increasing in frequency and range, constituted an unacceptable security threat to which Israel had a responsibility to respond."

Pelosi backed the Bush administration position that the ceasefire should address the root causes of the conflict to forge a peace that is "durable and sustainable."

So now the entire US government is opposed to addressing the root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict instead of just the Bush adminstration. Instead of seeking to resolve a situation that has been going on we pick the same side we always pick which prevents a resolution. What kind of idiots do we really have leading this nation?

What part of ignoring the plight of the Palestinians will not bring a solution do people fail to understand. Yes, we should look at the attacks against Israel but we also need to look at the suffering of the Palestinians living under Israel tyranny as well. Picking sides is the WRONG thing to do.

Then get rid of Hamas and stop the daily rockets being fired into Israel from Gaza. That's what Palestinians must agree to do before another ceasefire will work. Palestinians have been offered a lot of different and positive things; they just never do anything with it. They were given Gaza and what did they do? They let Hamas come in there, take over and start firing rockets into Israel from Gaza.
