I'd like to see that. Would be nice if that was included in the so called stimulus plan...

I believe the bill that passed the House has quite a bit of green energy funding.

$31 billion to modernize federal and other public infrastructure with investments that lead to long term energy cost savings;

$19 billion for clean water, flood control, and environmental restoration investments;

$10 billion for transit and rail to reduce traffic congestion and gas consumption.

$32 billion to transform the nation’s energy transmission, distribution, and production systems by allowing for a smarter and better grid and focusing investment in renewable technology.

$16 billion to repair public housing and make key energy efficiency retrofits.

$6 billion to weatherize modest-income homes.

$10 billion for science facilities, research, and instrumentation.

http://appropriations.house.gov/pdf/...ry01-21-09.pdf

The $32 billion in a smart energy grid is significant. Among many things, it will allow for the expansion of renewable energy.

The details starting on page 4 are a good read too.

Saving energy, putting people back to work, helping the environment...no wonder right-wingers are so upset. These are things Bush actively worked against the past 8 years.

Gore and others brainwashed the whole world with this Global Warming bull(*)(*)(*)(*), people talk about it so much this days no one even think about questioning it.
The fact is that no one can prove that we are causing the Global Warming, climate on Earth was and will always be changing.

I'm not saying that we are not causing it but we are not guilty until proven

"Climate change" is the correct term.

"Global warming" is the term used often in the media. It is not a technical term - but it is not necessarily wrong.

Anthropogenic emissions are causing the globe to warm - hence "global warming". This planetary warming impacts upon climate. Climate is driven by a lot of things - eg. ocean currents, albedo effects, winds etc. That is "global warming" may cause some places to actually get cooler.

Call it "Bruce" if you like - I really couldn't give a toss. Just try to learn a little bit about things before you go spouting crap.

You should be the one taking that advice, chum.

This is a graph of global Temps. We are LONG OVERDUE a period of warming. But the shift is toward cooling because of the lack of sunspot activity.

It's interesting that a thread like this disappears into the second page while something like Michael phelps stays on the front page even with similar time of posts. Who is in charge of pushing threads off the page?

You people dont understand the scientific community. They live and die on public funding.
If the science is based on a model or models that means that the scientists are hiding the truth for usually monetary gain. Models are only used in science when you dont have enough numbers (data) or the numbers (data) is not giving you the conclusions that you want.
So if you want to get funded and the numbers say something that you dont like you create a model and make that model do what ever you want it to do.
Science by models is called junk science.
Global Warming is the perfect example of science by models for money.
