China outlines it's military stance!
China Dailey, 12/28 "A new round of arms race, which is centred on military revolution, is unfolding - driving many countries to make adjustments in their security and military strategies. With the military disequilibrium going on, the tendency of relying on military might to grab the strategic and economic interests intensifies. The role of military power in defending the national security is thus on the rise. . . . The United States is realigning and beefing up its military presence in the region and strengthening military alliances. Japan, swayed by the right-leaning political current, is adjusting its military security policy, developing and deploying the anti-missile shield system. . . . The 2004 defence white paper depicts the cross-Taiwan Straits relationship as grim, viewing Taiwan independence forces' separatist activities as the biggest and the most pressing threat to peace and stability in the Straits and in the Asia-Pacific region." http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english...ent_403894.htm

And they probably love how we're fighting terrorism...it means our military is deployed elsewhere.
You'll really see China's might when it comes to wars/geopolitics over resources (especially oil). But alas, there's simply not enough focus on China in national discussions. We really should be worried about their growing strength...

China considers Taiwan their island. Of course, in the end they are going to get the island.
Bush is fixated on a crusade thing. China does not fit into his religious thinking so the US is ignoring China. It's sad. The Neocons are wanting to use the US's military muscle to remake the middle east I guess because they have to oil? Or is it because the Neocons think they can convert 1+ billion Islamists to Christianity. Meanwhile China is on course to be more economically powerful than the US by 2040 and they are deploying more long range ICBM that could hit the US. The Real ICBM Potential of China "According to reliable data and cautious estimates, by 2000 PLA’s 2nd Artillery included eight ICBM brigades Ę namely, three DF-5 brigades, three DF-4A brigades and two DF-31 brigades. Each brigade has 12 ICBMs, so the 2nd Artillery missile corps, by 2000, had at least 96 ICBMs. This estimate contradicts U.K. and U.S. military analytical organizations that reported in 2002 that China’s strategic nuclear potential comprised 24 DF-5 ICBMs and several DF-31 ICBMs. These Western surveys have underestimated seriously China’s strategic missile and nuclear potential. Chinese strategists believe that in the case of a U.S. first strike, (a) about 50 percent of Chinese ground-based ICBMs would survive and could deliver a retaliatory strike, and (b) about 80 percent of the surviving ICBMs would reach their targets in the United States. Even assuming a low estimate of 38 Chinese ICBMs, some of them will be MIRVed – with multiple warheads targeting different targets on U.S. soil. In addition, China has ambitious but realizable plans to add two more brigades outfitted with a number of DF-31 ICBMs before 2010." http://newsmax.com/archives/articles...2/233044.shtml 094-class submarine, boomer: "China's military has launched the first of a new class of ballistic missile submarines in what defense officials view as a major step forward in Beijing's strategic weapons program. The new 094-class submarine was launched in late July and when fully operational in the next year or two will be the first submarine to carry the underwater-launched version of China's new DF-31 missile, according to defense officials." http://rense.com/general60/icbm.htm The JL-2 (DF-31) submarine-launched missile to be deployed on the Type 094 and the DF-31 are the first strategic systems that will contain stolen U.S. warhead and missile secrets, the officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told The Times. . . . According to the intelligence officials, the new Type 094 is being built to provide "a strategic deterrent" to the United States. Both the JL-2 and the first Type 094 are expected to be deployed around 2005 or 2006. The JL-2 also is known as the Julang-2 and will have a range of about 7,400 miles." http://www.taiwandc.org/washt9908.htm DF-31 "The newest generation of Chinese strategic missile, including the Dong Feng-31, will narrow the gap between current Chinese, US and Russian ballistic missile designs. This system is a solid-fueled, three-stage mobile missile with a range of 8000 km carrying a 700 kg, one-megaton warhead. The DF-31 limited-range ICBM will give China a major strike capability that will be difficult to counterattack at any stage of its operation, from pre-flight mobile operations through terminal flight phases." http://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/world/china/df-31.htm

Lots of people questioned it. Bush won according to the rules we had in place long before the election. And in any event, there was no question the 2nd election at all...he won the popular vote as well. Whats your excuse for that? Quote:

You and George Bush can both take that kinda crap, and stick it right where the sun don't shine. Freakin' miscreants. They've spent a trillion dollars of my freakin' money, and now they're trying to tell me I'm amoral 'cause I don't agree with their priorities. Well, here's the truth, bud: you guys are losers. You're failures. You haven't done squat, and everything you've tried to do, has turned to steamin' dog-doo - So, why don't you just shut up with that crap, 'kay? See what you're up against now? |
