Default Reagan beats Obama

Quote:
Nearly 37.8 million Americans watching at home viewed President Barack Obama’s oath of office and inaugural speech between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. ET on January 20, 2009. This is the most viewed inauguration since the record of 41.8 million viewers who watched Ronald Reagan’s 1981 inauguration.

This is the first inaugural since Nielsen began tracking time-shifted viewing, and this year’s data is based on Live + Same Day, meaning incremental viewing during the same broadcast day is included.
Quote:
2005 – George W. Bush – 11.8 HH / 15.5 million
2001 – George W. Bush – 20.8 HH / 29.0 million
1997 – Bill Clinton – 17.1 HH / 21.6 million
1993 – Bill Clinton – 24.5 HH / 29.7 million
1989 – George Bush – 18.1 HH / 23.3 million
1985 – Ronald Reagan – 22.3 HH / 25.1 million
1981 – Ronald Reagan – 37.4 HH / 41.8 million
1977 – Jimmy Carter – 31.5 HH / 34.1 million
1973 – Richard Nixon – 28.5 HH / 33.0 million

And Obama received twice the media coverage Reagan did, imagine that.

He wins on the jobs creation agenda as well, Reagan CREATED 16 million jobs during his administration of eight years, while Obama wants to create 2,3,or 4 million in his first term. How come the magic man can't offer up 8 million in his first term? I guess raising taxes on the job creators kinda drops the expectations, when tax hikes are a real job killer.

You say twice the media coverage? Most AMericans only got 3 or 4 TV stations back in 1980. I get two hundred via Dish Network.

I was a sophomore in high school when Reagan was elected President in 1980/81. We had a whopping 13 channels via cable. (ABC/NBC/CBS) were the "news" channels back in the day.

Imagine that indeed! Yep, you need a really active imagination to keep that one going

"Considered" by whom? Will this myth never die? Must be it be dug up and paraded around when the conservatives run out of blankies to suck on?

uhh... yeah. And more people vote for an American Idol than a U.S. President. Who cares?
