Britain unlikely to back any US attack against Iran, Turkish Press, Jan 21
It looks like if Bush wants to go to war with Iran he will go alone. "For all the stern words from Washington about possible military action against Iran if it fails to rein in its nuclear ambitions, the United States would almost certainly have to mount such a campaign without the backing of Britain, its staunchest ally in Iraq, according to experts." http://www.turkishpress.com/world/ne...7.a1cg5m69.xml

True, but you do need infantry to consolidate the ground. Unless the plan is to link the Caspian Sea to the Persian Gulf.

Secondly, a bombing campaign we wouldn't need the Brits. And of course, we could also simply let Israel do it. IF Israel discovers that Iran is close to nuclear weapons that can reach them.....which would certainly be the case....then they'd have every right to defend themselves from this possibility.

Possible, but I'm sure they were watching during Gulf Wars part I and II. I kinda doubt they will be in much of a hurry to take us on.
