I know this is going to upset those of you with BDS, but too bad. I never voted for President Bush, but I served under him in the US Army and he was an excellent Commander-in-Chief. If I would have been there, I would have joined in the standing ovation for a great American who served as President during some of the worst times in American history.
Well he struck out when he traded Sammy Sosa and he struck out again when he invaded Iraq for no reason. He struck out with many other things but those two are right up there with the worst.

No. You are confused about who got us into this mess. Bush and friends set up the medicare prescription drug benefit with no mechanism to pay for it AND a guaranteed gravy train for the pharmaceutical companies. Bush and co. got us into two wars: a gift that keeps on taking. Bush and friends set up 700 Billion for the Tarp program and left office with the banks still in a shambles.

In the current financial crisis, a deficit is unavoidable - particularly when there are so many legacy claims left in place by the past administration.

Oh and the latest revelation is that Bush's administrator of the Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation switched much of its insurance from Bonds to stocks at the peak of the stock market bubble.

That's because he has to spend to get us out of the mess bu$h left us. bu$h is like a (*)(*)(*)(*)bird; he flies in, craps on everything then flies away, leaving the mess behind for others to clean up, which is what Obama is doing now.

Zoe, the truth is that FDR's New deal and his "2nd Bill of Rights" set the US on the course that we are on now.

Both parties are guilty as hell of spending more than the govt takes in, and of conducting business that is outside the Constitutional spectrum of the Framer's intent of a limited Govt.

The problem is that people believe the govt should be supporting them. We need to realize that if we want to truly remain a free country, then we have to accept the failure of some individuals just as readily as we adore the success of others.

Liberty is an inalienable right granted to all individuals buy the Creator, NOT by the Govt. The Govt cannot grant Salvation. There is no such thing as Utopia. Heaven on Earth doesn't exist. The govt can't provide for "the masses" as the statist will try to have you believe. Whenever any govt tries, they will fail.

America is the greatest nation EVER for a reason. The reason is that our forefathers knew that the individual was granted his rights by Nature's God, not by mankind nor any form of govt.

Yeah, President Bush was a great president. We sure miss him there in the White house.....but also glad to have him home.

And what about that pitch??? Another strike....albeit a little high.....but a great arm for a 63 year old guy.

Your Mother was correct.

But, the 40,000 baseball fans that stood up and cheered for Bush disagree with your silence.

Hey....my Mom used to say that all the time as well. See---we're all more alike than we tend to think!!! <G> OR at least we were raised that way. But none of us on this board are abiding by that bit of advice....are we??? Otherwise we wouldn't be here debating.
