I know this is going to upset those of you with BDS, but too bad. I never voted for President Bush, but I served under him in the US Army and he was an excellent Commander-in-Chief. If I would have been there, I would have joined in the standing ovation for a great American who served as President during some of the worst times in American history.
I lost my love of Bush a long time ago, and I haven't developed one for Obama yet.

However-as presidents of our nation they stand for something important-a tradition, our country, and a lot more. I think in public appearences both men should be shown all honor as is fitting.

The place for debate and rough and tumble is the Legislature-and public discourse like here.

Good for Dallas. I hope they show Obama the same respect-not for policies, not for the man per se-but for the office of the Presidency, the standards of civility and respect and what that means for the larger community-that although we can strongly, passionately dissagree on things, that in the public sphere RESPECT be maintained one another.

In the current financial crisis, a deficit is unavoidable - particularly when there are so many legacy claims left in place by the past administration.

Oh and the latest revelation is that Bush's administrator of the Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation switched much of its insurance from Bonds to stocks at the peak of the stock market bubble.
There are numerous people missing from your "Bush & Co" list. Curiously they are all from the same party.

He is STILL my president. If you consider the foreign born usurper and domestic enemy in the White House, Bush doesn't have a successor. So as far as I am concerned, he will continue being my president.

what I miss most about Bush is that we had a President who LOVED HIS COUNTRY - every inch of it and every one of its people. Now we have a pretender to the office who hates the US and unless we are poor, black and without Christian values and beliefs, we can all go pound salt.

And just for fun here is a the Cincy mayor probably a Dim throwing out the first pitch there:

God Bless President Bush and his family.
