Either it's loss of revenue taken from people in other states or loss of revenue that was originally taken from Texans and returned to them as a fraction of the original amount. Loss of jobs that produce no wealth. You still aren't coming up with any downsides.

We'd have the same economic out put as France.

Never happen though....civil war...remember?
Well, actually you guys are still in a hole, so you would not be ahead of anybody.

No, I've done the numbers. We pay the Federal Government $1 in personal income taxes. Our state gets about .80 of that back. That total figure, is a larger amount of money than we are behind. .05 is how much the illegal immigrant price tag is, medical, services etc.

Califronia would turn around thier deficit in one year of becomming independant. After that...out trillion dollar economy and defense contractors, and high tech base could construct robot armies...kidding

Seriously If you'd like I can look all that up again but I assure you an Independant California is solvent.

Who made that rule? There is a big difference between then and now. I believe that if the Federal government was dissolved, every state could manage themselves. It’s been the Federal government who has brought us down.

Yeah. Texas = Anti-American. I am always flabbergasted by their flag level with the American flag.

You'd have Mexico's drug cartels wanting to make Texas into just another 'narco-state. I'd love to see what the people of Texas would do to the scum balls who basically control Mexico now. 'Adios Amigos'

Texas wouldn't be affected all that much. We pretty much self-sustaining now. It is the U.S. as a whole that would determinately affected if we left.

Hate to burst anyones bubble here but Calif is bankrupt. I would think that contributes a negative to the budget of the US

Texas being its own country would be a great idea, but I wouldn't want the seperatist nutters here in Quebec to get any ideas. I think that they've slithered back under the rocks they come from and the province and country are better off for it.
