"Deposing Saddam and installing a democracy."

Oh, and I thought the war was because Saddam and his massive WMD program posed a threat to our security. Where on earth would I get that idea!?! Did Colin Powell go before the U.N. and try to scare them with stories of big bad mobile weapons labs and tons of anthrax, or was that just a figment of my imagination?

Don't even feed me that democracy B.S. That line of reasoning only came out once the administration spin doctors saw the WMD story fall through. So they switched gears and made the war about humanitarian reasons instead of national protection.

Toyota can not produce cars right away in the short term in massive amounts as they need capital FIRST. Once they are able to produce more significant numbers, every car produced will be cheaper and more profitable due to economies of scale. The demand is more then there, and Toyota is upgrading tons of their plants to accomadate the demand. Over 300,000 hybrid cars will have been made by this one company in the past six years using only private funds. You don't see many in Denver, because Denver does not have the standards of other cities, and the hotest spots for hybrids are places where the government gives tax breaks and lets hybrids run in carpools lanes even if there is only one passenger. In these places, they are having to reverse the laws now, as hybrids are clogging traffic! And as for the WTO, the government does not even need to pay these private companies money, they could simply increase air quality standards and force companies to comply very easily, which would make the buyers of new cars pay the taxes directly, which may be wiser, as companies would be forced to use their money efficiently and not simply win a minimum bid from the government. Yet, the WTO has blocked air quality controls numerous times and had corporate lawyers lobby in Washington. The WTO is simply corporate monopolies designed to break any state and local laws, they are a serious threat to Democracy as it makes the United States dependent on International corporations outside of the control of the voters. Yet, you fight against the U.N.? The WTO is the NWO, not the UN. I don't know what you're smoking, but I'd like some.

And as for Democracy, the entire point is to raise quality of life, not to simply vote, and it is no business of our to go out and help someone if it is not really helping them, much less us., especially when you spend that much of a chunk of tax dollars while complaining about running out of Social Security funds.
