it would be best to drop it and move on. It's over and done with and there is literally nothing we can do about it. Except let the Religous Right puppet the GOP into flogging Terri's struggle (though I am not sure about the amount of effort she went through, honestly) into a political move to create an excuse for the gov't to intervene in citizen's private lives even more. Funny how they harp the "less and weaker national government = good issue" isn't it?

I agree with you about not allowing the courts to decide WHO is worth saving... but this was strictly a case about determining the wishes of someone who was unable to speak for themselves... It was covered in more depth than any single medical case I have ever seen....

This was nothing more than the Schindlers and Randall Terry using the most gullible and silly among us to harrass Micheal Schiavo and "make his life hell"(schindler quote from USAToday)

Until our society sorts out the issue of euthanasia (and abortion, and a host of other equally controversial topics), it is entirely likely that any individual case with broader policy ramifications will indeed become a circus, and will be used as a poster child by the extremists on either side...both sides intent on shaping the public's perceptions of the issue.

Such is life in a constitutional republic/democracy.

But I would think that 7 years worth of court rulings going against their thoughts on the matter would make it tough for them to win. Especially since the ultimate decision was not even made my Michael, but by the court.

It's existence is enough. I would say that the opposite is true...a compelling reason should exist for doing as was done in Terri's case...actively causing death.

And the fact that Terri's existence did not conform to your internal and arbitrary standards of worthiness is simply not a compelling argument for depriving her of it.
