Hmmm. Can you please point me to the post where I said anything remotely kind about Reid? Please? Pretty please?

I want to remind you of what Harry Reid said just a few years ago in response to Republican calls for Social Security and Medicare reform. Reacting to GOP warnings in 2005 about the impending insolvency of both programs, Reid sneered:

“Today’s report confirms that the so-called Social Security crisis exists in only one place — the minds of Republicans,” said Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid of Nevada. “In reality, the program is on solid ground for decades to come.”

This guy is priceless. Another gem along the lines of when he tried to spin how we have a "voluntary" tax system.

This guy is NOT helping promote your intellectual highground myth Dems.

Well that is just it, you havent said anything....lol.

What is your take on the leader of the DNC in the Senate saying this a couple years ago, compared to the stance the DNC took in the 90s, and comparing both to our current circumstance?

Incredible. The party that took control with SS in as good a shape as we've had in a generation, trashes it and then screams at then next administration for the mess they've themselves have made.

And do any of you fiscally responsible folks have even a tiny clue as to what your President was proposing as a solution? ANYBODY?

Taking 2-3% of incoming SS revenue and putting it into private accounts invested in the market.

See, the funding shortfall for today's and tomorrows retirees would have actually been made WORSE!

And all that money flooding into Wall Street - brokers would have gotten paid - and the investments would have evaporated. If any of those would have been funneled into CDS's and derivatives, and of course we know they would have, we would be in even WORSE shape now than we are. Our exposure would be huge.

How the hell did Bush trash SS? Proof please.

And the privatization portion was optional for anybody under 55, nobody over 55 could have done that.

And with all due respect to your rant on broker's getting paid, who has the government been paying with SS funds? Since its already in the red?

Care to address Reid's comments from a couple of years ago? I know its common place for the left to attack Bush, but in this instance, Bush isnt really an issue. Its Reid's statement that are the issue. Try and focus your rants on that and not Bush.

The leader of the DNC in the Senate? Are you referring to Reid's position as Senate Majority Leader?

Unless you can answer this without stonewalling and dragging this out, this will be my last comment to you on these boards:

What exactly are the libs to say??? They're never going to admit that a democratic is wrong about anything, so the only thing left in their arsenal is to attack the source and blame Bush. I'm sure they're working feverishly to try turning this into a racial issue as well.

Reid making this statement is the same as Frank talking up the housing market. Now, either these two geniuses of progressive America were too stupid to understand what was happening, or they secretly wanted it to crash, cause let's face it, a crisis is a terrible thing to waste.

Malkin is a credible source. Let's see if the likes of Katie Couric and Keith Oberman report on it tonight. My guess is, they'll just rave about Michelle Obama's arms and Barack's vast intelligence.

I used to think she was kinda hot before opening that mouth but apparently she needs something big to shut it. She's Bill-o The Clown's girl.
