This is utterly disgusting. Colin Powell calls it genocide and the next thing you know the two governments are allies. This can only spell disaster for the millions of Darfurians caught up in this terrible crisis. No doubt the US will attempt to water-down or veto any UN resolutions against Sudan; and for what? So they can save maybe a few hundred lives when they could be saving millions? I am utterly appalled at this.

all-is-woe.....your complaint is much like expecting that a police department should not be able to deal with bad guys (informers and the like) in cracking down on crime. It's where they get their best leads and information. I wouldn't expect that just because the U.S. cannot save everybody that it follows that we shouldn't then save the few that we are assured of saving.
And so.....what about Britain? How come YOUR country didn't stop the genocide? How come France, who had troops stationed nearby, didn't even attempt to stop the genocide?

it's funny because she changes it to what UK does to stop it rather than try to give example of the UK condoning genocide, in the way the US has now done with sudan.

No, not a red herring at all. I truly want to know why you think it's always the United States....and NOT your country.....that should stop genocides wherever they occur. Tell me why the SUDAN is the United States problem......and NOT Britain's.....and NOT the UN's.....and NOT France's? And if you can't.....then just shut up about it.

JP5.....youre avoiding the fact that we have made an alliance with the verty people who are COMMITTING THE GENOCIDE.
Given you cant even comment on that, anything you say is null and void. All you do is say "Why should it be the US's problem, blah blah blah." You wanted Saddam Hussein dead for committing genocide, and yet you think its fine for us to ally with people who have already killed tens of thousands of people. Dont even try to justify your position, there is no possible justification for it. You cant even debate, all you do is dodge, and spout rhetoric. And you condone genocide. So why is it you should be given credibility? |

but I don't think that most libbys even read the article. They just see words popping out at them and start making an argument. Genocide is always a good crowd pleaser. What third world or middle eastern country hasn't at one time or another committed genocide? By doing this, they can keep the focus off any positive progress, like obtaining intelligence on the war on terror, and pound away at the past mistakes making sure to guarantee an uphill battle all the way.
