Default Hugging ban at Oregon school

Do you suppose the teachers stand there with a stopwatch? What's the legal definition of "lingering"?

This reminded me of the kid suspended for talking to his mom on a cell phone. In both cases you've got a rule that seems to go beyond its stated purpose, compounded by willful youthful disobedience.

I'm willing to cut schools a lot of slack, but perhaps they need to figure out less-draconian ways to maintain focus and discipline.

Default ?

I don't see this as any different than the rules they tried to enforce way back when I was in high school. We even dropped our "hand-holding" when we saw a teacher or the principle. They are trying to have a cut-off place......to avoid a couple going under the stairways and getting it on. Nowadays, I'm sure it's more needed than ever.
