On Monday, the Senate will begin debate on the Democrap’s horrifying Cap and Trade bill, the one that even environmentalists hate because it won’t reduce pollution. What it will do, however, is create an army of energy nazis who will perform an “energy audit” on every home in America. If you don’t pass the audit…fines ($2000 for the first violation) and possible legal charges await you. If you don’t pass the audit, you can’t sell your home…which the Census bureau has already, or will soon, GPS the coordinates of. (Section 202 of the House bill.) Atlas is Shrugging hard.

Cap and Trade, if not stopped in the Senate, will irreversibly concentrate even more power in the Executive branch of government, and will cause massive inflation in every part of our economy. Our legislators love to pass unpopular bills while America is busy with holiday doings, and they’re hoping you’ll still be shooting off firecrackers instead of paying attention. Don’t forget, the legislation in 1913 that created the Federal Reserve was passed over Christmas.

Cap and Trade will audit every aspect of your home and life. What will be involved in a home energy audit? It is an intrusive visit made by the bureaucrats at the Home Energy Team or a similar group. They will examine and report the way you live your life directly to RESNET (Residential Energy Services Network). Light fixtures, socket types, spas, hot tubs, windows, appliances, walls and roofs will all be under review. Energy tests will be conducted throughout your house. At the end of the visit you will receive a report and a rating. The report will focus on the changes you need to make and the rating is called a HERS rating (Home Energy Rating System). RESNET will perform the audits through authorized contractors. RESNET has adopted the Mortgage Industry National Home Energy Rating Standards.

Under the RESNET standards ( www.natresnet.org)`for a home audit, the following procedures will become law under the climate bill.

704.1.2.3 The Home Energy Survey Professional shall request copies of utility bills or written permission to obtain the energy use information from the utility company, and use
them to produce an estimate of generalized end-uses (base, heating, and cooling).
704.1.2.5. Minimum Procedures for an In-Home Energy Survey:
704.1.2.5.1.1 R-values of wall/ceiling/floor insulation
704.1.2.5.1.2 Square footage and approximate age of home
704.1.2.5.1.3 Type of windows: glazing type(s) and frame material(s)
704.1.2.5.1.4 Type, model number, and location of heating/cooling system(s)
704.1.2.5.1.5 Type of ductwork, location and R-value of duct insulation, and any indications of previous duct sealing
704.1.2.5.1.6 Type of foundation is crawl, basement, or slab
704.1.2.5.1.7 Checklist of common air-leakage sites indicating likely opportunities for leakage reduction
704.1.2.5.1.8 Estimated age and efficiency of major appliances such as dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines and dryers
704.1.2.5.1.9 Number and type of hardwired light fixtures and screw-in bulbs in portable lamps suitable for energy efficient re-lamping
704.1.2.5.1.10 Visual indications of condensation
704.1.2.5.1.11 Presence and location of exhaust fans, and determination of whether they are vented outdoors
704.1.2.5.1.12 Number and type of water fixtures (e.g. faucets, showerheads)
704.1.2.5.1.13 Presence and type(s) of combustion equipment; identification of visually identifiable evidence of flame rollout, blocked chimney, and corroded or missing vent connector.

Obama SAID he’d create a million green jobs, and if this insanity passes you can see where they will come from. An army of Green Shirts regulating the lives of every American.
This bill will end our country. Its as simple as that. Our Congress doesnt seem to care either way. Its almost like they want to end it for some reason.

No rational human being would vote for this bill. The energy costs that will ensue, along with the spike in gas prices, the inability to sell your home, the gestapo it creates that allows them to enter our homes, will destroy the economy totally.

Nobody who wants to sell their house will be able to b/c there is no way any house out there will meet the code they are creating in this bill. Housing will plummet. Companies will go belly up due to the increase in gas alone. Small business will dry up and go under. Energy sectors will die, unable to meet the codes in it. Hell, Congress had to put welfare in it for poor people b/c they know they wont be able to foot the bills that are coming. What does that say? Congress is going to pass a bill they know people cant pay on. Its (*)(*)(*)(*)ing ridiculous and stupid.

This is a nuclear bomb upon our entire nation. And Congress, the people meant to represent us, are OK with that I guess.

Note the attempt to twist my very well reasoned position. Infinite <> finite.

I understand that agenda corrupts your understanding here. If you begin with the premise that mankind is essentially evil, you can't really help yourself when you get boxed in by the obvious economic realities involved.

So, what are property prices like out there in the Twilight Zone? Ever run across Rod Serling?

The prices right now wont matter if they pass this bill.

Way to stay clear of the issue there Sparks. Everything is hunky-dory in liberal lala land isnt it?

We shall see how well things are once your energy prices are jacked up. We will see and check back in on "wonderful" then. In the meantime, make sure you have the proper mercury filled lightbulbs in place so when the government comes knocking on your door you wont get fined.

I wonder where they will get the money for those bureaucratic jobs? Maybe Obama and his communist pals can print some up real quick, so he can tell us how he will cut the deficit in half by terms end.

One quote:

"CO2 is a gas that affects climate by changing the earth’s radiation
budget: an increase in its concentration leads to a rise in
near-surface temperature. This has been known since the 19th
Century and is well-established physics. If the concentration doubles,
the resulting global mean warming will very likely be between
2 and 4°C (the most probable value is ~3ºC), with the remaining
uncertainty due to climatic feedback effects."

Pretty standard consensus view.

The site also lists studies not published in any cited peer-reviewed journal (many are in Energy & Environment, for example), some are older studies from the 1980's, a few are obsolete (replaced by more recent studies). But the vast majority of them don't argue against anthropogenic global warming. Nice try, though.
The wacko AGW conspiracy theory rolls on.
Even Obama is trying to push it. LOL

Is anyone in Washington sane and trying not to rape the taxpayers?

No, Congress has become an enemy of the taxpayer at this point. There is nothing they are doing that is coming close to looking out for the taxpayer. You cant claim to be looking out for the taxpayer if your overspending the money the taxpayer pays you.

I understand that lack of any actual knowledge of physics corrupts your understanding here. The world is not a magic pudding. Sorry. You cannot get infinite energy from finite resources.

I'm sure the dead and maimed of 9/11 appreciate you trivializing their deaths by equating pollution regulation with the terrorists who killed them.

Curious isn't it!

And now you call caution based on ACTUAL SCIENCE "fear mongering"!?!?!?

"Fear mongering" is propaganda. It comes from the media. It does not come from peer-reviewed science. It cannot come from peer-reviewed science - by definition. Why can't you understand that?
