I still think, over 80 years later, the League of Nations fiasco has ruined that word for good in regards to international diplomacy.
A "Common Friendship of Democracies" or "Association of Non-Bastard Nation States" is a good idea. Hell, we already have the UN HQ ready in New York. And members, like England, France (yes, even France

), Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, India, etc. could get perks for being democratic nations. Like preferred trading or sharing of certain military equipment.
An us against them (being non-democracies) would be a great idea; it'd make dictatorships and theocracies less powerful.
I see no reason why Libya holds a temporary seat on the security council just because it's supposedly "fair." Or why China, despite its size, is a permanent member on the UN-SC. Communist, anti-human rights nations should not be in charge of security...
