Depends on which glasses you are looking out of or what flavor kool aid you are drinking.
You're missing the point. The point is not the interpretation of the effect of either President's actions, but the ability of each to accomplish what they set out to accomplish. Regardless of your political leanings, it is historical fact that Carter failed to implement many of his policy measures, while Regan did not.

Look at the present administration. Republicans are called obstructionists because they fail to support the democrat's legislation. Had the congress been more evenly divided, do you think all these present bills would pass?
Proponents of the president would say he was hamstrung by congress/senate. {calling the opposite party "obstructionists"}Thus making him unable to "serve effectively".
If Congress was more evenly divided, we'd have a more accurate measurement of Obama's ability to wield political capital and influence the process.

No, no... you don't understand. If you cut taxes, it will create more jobs, just like it did in the Bush adminstration. Worse on record.

What is seriously so bad about cutting taxes? Seriously...don't you believe taxes should be less for all of us? it is our money after all.

You seriously can't believe that if people brought more cash home, that they wouldn't spend more.

Take a look at recent history. All anyone's ever promised us is tax cuts. Then, around the turn of the century, what did you see? Collapsing bridges, states whoring themselves out for federal highway funds, defunct infrastructure.

Tax cuts can be good. Too many cuts can be bad. I don't know the exact numbers on taxes paid across the board, but I'm willing to bet that from some segments of the population, it's the lowest it's ever been.

How many bridges have collapsed in the past 10 years?

Try to look at the bigger picture of what I'm talking about, here. What do you get if you are constantly giving tax cuts?

Deficit spending.

That is because the government is too big.

Adding 30+ czars who have staff, who travel, have officies, (*)(*)(*)(*) like that costs TONS of money, and its not needed. Give that money back to the citizens, you know..the ones who actually are supposed to have the power in this country.

I just thought of three, since and including the MN Bridge. Two were pedestrian bridges.

That was without a google.

One is too many.

Maybe if they didn't spend millions on Turtle tunnels, there would be plenty of money for bridges.

States should be in control of their own roads. why should myself, being in NJ, have to contribute money to a road that might not even be in my state or one that I don't even drive on or have never and never will drive on?

Agreed.

No, really.
