Default Pentagon sued by American Soldier

http://aljazeera.com/me.asp?service_ID=8798

Of course the US media wont run this story.

His peers were told he was an unruly detainee......so they beat him half to death, and he now has psychological problems, seizures, and other problems.
They didnt know he was one of their own until after they ripped his orange jumpsuit off, exposing his uniform.

I would call extreme beating torture. The guy has seizures now for Christ sake.

The Pentagon had initially denied that Baker's hospitalization following the training incident was due to the beating. But later, officials conceded that he was treated for injuries suffered when a five-man MP "internal reaction force" choked him, slammed his head several times against a concrete floor and sprayed him with pepper gas.

The drill took place in a prison isolation wing reserved for suspected Al Qaeda and Taliban detainees who are deemed to be disruptive or had attacked MPs. Baker said he put on the orange jumpsuit and squeezed under a prison bunk after being told by a lieutenant that he would be portraying an unruly detainee. He said he was assured that MPs conducting the "extraction drill" knew it was a training exercise and that Baker was an American soldier.

As he was being choked and beaten, Baker reportedly screamed a code word and shouted: "I'm a U.S. soldier! I'm a U.S. soldier!" He said the beating continued until the jumpsuit was yanked down during the struggle, revealing his military uniform.

The lawsuit says of the extraction team: "Armed with the highly inflammatory, false, incendiary and misleading information that had been loaded into their psyches by their platoon leader, these perceptions and fears... became their operative reality, and they acted upon these fears."

In other news, recently Bill Clinton has called for Gitmo to close down.

Wow. Is Al Jazeera your news outlet of choice now? It's the mouthpiece for Al Qaeda!!!!!!!!!

I notice they also used an article about former president Bill Clinton saying Gitmo needs to be closed. I'm sure they've used Durbin and Kennedy's words as well. And one wonders why the terrorists have such belief that they will win this "jihad" against Americans. Thanks to libs.

And how about those "Reader comments" they include? ALL the ones from the US are Bush-hating, American-hating comments.

Ahh.....Neo.....you should be so proud!!

Default You know, lawsuits are public record.

With a quick check everyone can determine whether the story is true or not (at lease whether the lawsuit was filed).

One of the comments is from a guy whos tag name is "SFC USARMY RET from USA" and he said:

ok, this should say a former soldier. while still on active duty, it is very hard to sue the army but if this is true, this guy needs to sue and he should also name the platoon leader in the suit as well since he put all of this fear and cr&ap in those mp's just before the drill. you can fire them up but dont scare them

I dont even know why i respond anymore. You hate everyone so much you cant even think straight. You should seriously seek help.

And the Washington Post was the mouthpiece for the Unabomber. That doesn't mean it's an illegitimate news source, it means that when they get important information from people they distribute it. I'm obviously not going to say that Al Qaeda isn't biased, but that doesn't mean that any story they print is false.

This is not a new story. It's a new version of an old story. Actually, I heard he was suing to be reinstated into the Army. If he is suing the government, his lawyer has his work cut out for him overcoming the Feres doctrine. I expect the government to settle out of court even though I doubt Baker could win a lawsuit.

a couple funny things in this statement. the first comment is...basically...saying that the iraqi insurgency is the fault of liberals. seriously. think about that for just a moment. they are saying that liberals are the reason iraq is such a crapstorm. how in the hell does anyone come to that conclusion? did the liberals push the wmd agenda? sure, the liberals went with the actual invasion afterwards, but are the liberals in control of the army? are the liberals the ones that are supposed to gaurd all these police recruits over there? these insurgents were blowing themselves up BEFORE the libs even said we should leave, so why are they gonna suddenly stop if the libs said we should stay there forever? you think they are going to get tired of having all the success that they are having? is the media supposed to not report it when 1,700 us troops die, and when dozens of iraqis are blown up every other day? even if these troops didnt read about it in the news, they dont need to. they are on the front line of the news. they are the ones that MAKE the news. the media could be a lot worse...they could show the coffins coming home if they really wanted us to get out. you guys have had it easy this time around as far as anti-war propaganda goes...aka...showing the reality of death in war and how every life is a tragedy....you guys hyped up sept 11th and blah blah, but when that many us troops die, they should just be forgotten about and not even mentioned for their sacrifice as it makes you guys look like the bad guys you are.

give me a break.

i also like how jp5 throws in anti-bush, anti-american in one sentence.
bush is america incarnate now....for anyone that didn't know this.
after all, you guys said we are with america or against america in general if we dont support this war....we didnt make that comment. bush did.
hahahahah. so stupid its incredible.

Take a post as it is written. If you feel you need to paraphrase it before replying, you can bet there is something wrong with your interpretation. If you do not understand what someone meant, ask them before replying. Starting a post with something like "are you saying...?" makes much more sense than "so you are saying...."

uh....why would I need to ask what I already know? of course thats what jp5 meant. i have no doubt in my mind jp5 meant that the libs are causing the iraqi insurgency. i dont need to paraphrase anything or reword anything...the way it was said makes is sound plenty stupid on its own.

"And one wonders why the terrorists have such belief that they will win this "jihad" against Americans. Thanks to libs. " --JP5

obviously, if they didn't think they could win, they wouldnt fight. and therefore, since they think they can win, they are fighting--therefore, thanks to libs, they are fighting, by JP5s own logic, which is incredibly post hoc at best, and outright ignorant as !@#!@ to say the least.

A war not supported by the American people is doomed to fail and unless I missed something, they have spoken.
