Default New CBO Analysis: "substantial increases in federal budget"

Quote:
In sum, relative to current law, the proposal would probably generate substantial
increases in federal budget deficits during the decade beyond the current 10-year budget
window.

increases in health care spending in excess of the rate of growth in income would be borne entirely by the federal government in the form of higher subsidy payments

"Hot Air" by Ed Morrissey:
CBO strikes back

The CBO is not going away quietly.

What next? Will we find out that the CBO director is behind on his property taxes and doesn't have a license to do accounting?

Wait...isn't the point of HC reform to get budget deficits under control?

Increasing expendatures never reduces a deficit. Reducing expendatures and/or increasing taxation reduces deficits.

How much does it increase the deficit by?

Well according to the CBO 239 Billion over ten year or

.0079% of the yearly Federal Budget.....not even 1%!

All this whining and crying for that!

Whatever I said doesn't matter.

The CBO is on point, and the Dims can't get it right.

Missed the target.

This analysis is for long-term budget projections, i.e., beyond the 10 year budget projection.

The operative word is "substantial".

Can we add the additional trillion dollar plus increases in existing federal health care programs to that $239 billion? Remember that the increased costs of Medicare and Medicaid, the most costly of all "insurance" programs are being excluded from the CBO cost figures.

And, of course, the CBO's estimate also includes a huge tax increase on Americans as well and doesn't account for the shift of government expenses to the private sector which is also estimated at about $1 trillion over the next ten years.
