Default Most Iraqi suicide bombers are foreigners

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050630/...ide_missions_1

"The vast majority of suicide attackers in Iraq are thought to be foreigners — mostly Saudis and other Gulf Arabs — and the trend has become more pronounced this year with North Africans also streaming in to carry out deadly missions, U.S. and Iraqi officials say. "

Default Saudis again, huh?

Funny how many terrorists allied countries have. It's a good thing they are on our side.

Default .

All I can say is that the House of Saud is not an ally of mine... as a matter of fact... they are on the list too.

Any country that lacks basic respect for others as badly as SA does... in the words of SadSav... not deserve to exist.

Stekim.....do you not understand that individuals are NOT necessarily the government? Most of the 9/11 killers were Saudi's......doesn't mean the government of SA was in on it.

Does that mean I trust the SA gov't? No, it does not. They have a lot of people in their government that I'm sure hates the U.S. But if you'll remember, the SA heads have to be very careful themselves.....as the terrorists would like to get rid of them and take over. Bin Laden was very much at odds with his gov't. AND I think they should stop teaching the hate of "infidels" to their children. There's lots wrong with SA, IMHO. But it would only be worse if their top leaders were against us.

Default Of course people are not governments.

But I don't see the governments of either of those countries doing anything about terrorists, either. Funny how we blame Saddam for the fact a few terrorists may have been milling about Iraq, but we give everyone else a complete pass. Pretty funny, no? And the fact is, while I have no doubt a terrorist or two was in Iraq, there were numerous places with far more terrorists that we call "allies". That is frankly one my many issues with the war. Nearly every reason we gave for invading Iraq applied far more to other places.

Default Yes and no

"But I don't see the governments of either of those countries doing anything about terrorists, either."

I couldn't agree more. However, I believe Secretary of State Condi Rice and her recent Middle East trip put these nations on notice.

"Nearly every reason we gave for invading Iraq applied far more to other places."

Yes and no. Terrorists fight under no nation's flag. They have no nation. They only have harbors. Iraq was one of them, and because of the idiot running it at the time, the most dangerous. Terrorists know full well the importance of the Iraqi war--if they lose, they lose everything. If they win, they gain a safe base for future terrorist actions.

Time magazine had a recent article where the reporter spent some time with a terrorist cell in iraq. Cell leader mentioned using foriegners as suicide bombers since they are more expendable compared to local terrorists who know the area.. also better for the natives morale I'd imagine.

anyhooo import or local, either way.. the us military is now caught in a battle of attrition for the forseeable future while doing garrison duty in iraq. When occupation began I wasn't expecting us casualties to reach 1k by dec04.. sadly by dec05 it'll be past 2k.

And 4500 Americans and 1600 Hessians died in the Revolutionary War. What is your point?

Default ...oh so now it's a basketball game!

Points? there is no 'point' at this time, sin. Just gathering intel about the enemy.

I leave making 'points' to very smart people like you

Nice sarcasm! There has been a dearth of truly good sarcasm here since senax moved on...

Anyway, I think you understood what I meant by point but could not counter what I said. Therefore you resorted to sarcasm.

Nice tactic.
