Default 2002, not 2003

In 2002, Israel made it legal to use palestinians as shields. What do you guys think of that?

Default They changed it

http://www.reliefweb.int/w/rwb.nsf/0...6?OpenDocument

They used them:

Apparently still using them:

A US reaction to it:

This is now less of an issue than it used to be, but with all the ruckus in Iraq the clashes in mostly Gaza are being neglected by large media corporations.

Default It's against the law- laws are laws

Since the use of human shields is now against the law in Israel, and rightfully so, the government will punish those who were involved. They know that support for Israel will diminish if they do nothing about it.

Israel's trackrecord for following international laws is, well, tarnished to say the least. Though I believe the Israeli courts will actually sentence the soldiers responsible I doubt they will let much of it leak into the public, and then try and shush it if it does. A quiet handling of the whole event, like Israel has repeatedly done in the past.
I don't think this incident will do anything to change Israel's support. The people who support Israel, will practically support Israel regardless. The people who don't support Israel will now be even more determined not to support Israel.

Default Israel has a better trackrecord than most other countries

Israel is being extremely humane for the most part when it comes to war and the crimes that are associated with it. True, there have been some bad instances in individual cases but if you think about it, Israel is trying to give away land.

What? Israel is trying to "give" land away? Gaza, sure but its 95% Palestinian!

If anything, Israel is apprehending disputed land with the construction of the "security barrier".

Your title "Israel has a better trackrecord than most other countries" might only apply if you include most of the world's corrupt dictatorships/'democracies'. If you consider only the truly democratic states, Israel has quite ugly trackrecord.

Israel isn't giving away land, as Darken said, it's is without a shadow of a doubt almost completely populated by Palestinians. That is unless you believe Israel has a "divine" right to that strip of desert and those Palestinians should suck it up and leave.
